not the best with his feet but I wouldn't swap Joe for anyone other than Neuer.
its an English spot that simply doesn't need the work other areas do,

Yup.

Although I agree with you... you need to consider Pep's opinion/preferences - not your's and mine (I personally love Hart and would like to see him stay).

But Pep? Always plays with a sweeper between the sticks. Does Joe - currently - fit the bill of sweeper-keeper? No, not by a long shot.

So... for me, now that ter Stegan is off the market... it's probably more likely than not that Joe is our number one at the start of next season. But if Joe isn't able to develop very good on-the-ball skills (Joe isn't great on the ball ATM, but he's not awful - if Joe focuses on improving in this area I could see him becoming a pretty good sweeper) - I just don't see Pep changing his philosophy - high, press - high possession... get the ball back as soon as possible... play it out from the back.... get the entire defensive line up as high as possible... use the keeper to sweep up if the opposition lumps the ball forward... this just isn't going to change at all for me.

So.... yeah. I could easily see Joe going in the summer window (perhaps less likely now that TS isn't available)... but for sure in the winter window or next year if Joe doesn't develop into a sweeper.

Not one to knock the new manager, but agree. Surely he needs to have a look at Joe. I'm sure he will.

The Mail are reporting we've agreed a deal for 15m.

Find it difficult to believe we could get him that cheap?

His release clause is estimated as north of £50m, so it does seem remarkably low. Even though ter Stegen has vocally wanted to leave for some time, the club has resisted as they see him as the number 1 when Bravo bows out.

I can only see this happening in two cases:
1. Barca have brought in another keeper, Daily Mail mentions Reina.
2. Ter Stegen has received assurances on play time, including league games.

Either which way I'm not convinced on this rumour.

Or Joe's on his way. Not saying I agree with it, if so, but, if we have have agreed a deal for Ter Stegen, it's the only solution that makes any sense.

This came out of nowhere, if true fantastic business for 15m. Proper competition for Hart.

Does Ter Stegen want a new contract? Unless he has a year left on his contract there's no way he goes for 15m, unless it would be 15m and add ons. Still can't imagine it, especially with Rulli as well.

Only see the end of Hart if a quality sweeper keeper becomes available and rightly so, he just does not fit the modern game, even his shot stopping is coming into question but that is just form and can be fixed.

Welcome to the new City. We get world class players for 20m (Gundogan), haggle for 2m (Peres), and rob Barcelona for 15m. Crazy. Assuming all this is true lol.

Well Barcelona need to sell as they're in a bit of financial trouble at the moment. If they can get £15m and his wages off the books, bring in Reina for cheaper.

More to the point though, the only reason ter Stegen wants to leave Barca was for more play time. And that's even though he played in all cup competitions, CL included.

He's not coming to City to play second fiddle to Hart. This leads me to believe he's either not coming at all, and Daily Mail going to Daily Mail, or it's Hart being sidelined instead.
