Easy

Benjamin mendy £52m 5 years ago
Aymeric Laport £58m 4 years ago
Jao Cancelo £58m 3 years ago
Nathan Ake £40m 2 years ago.

Unless you are saying he is going to be your worst defender then why don't you think its resonable to pay similar prices to these players.
In simple terms, it’s a different time. The market dictates and the market is shaped by equity. Clubs don’t have the same money as they did 2 years ago, due to COVID losses.

Zinky was worth £30 mil. Cucurella £35-£40 based on that, so £30 offer is not lowballing imo

have you got a cucu tattoo ?

give it a fucking rest ,you say the same thing over and over again, we know you want more money for him, you're not the brighton negotiator , we arent city negotiators , you've said your bit(over and over again) now change the record .

its good to have different supporters on here, love reading what they have to say, but youre a fucking wum mate

Both 30m and 50m are ridiculous when you think about it. No point in all of us arguing over whats a 'fair' fee. Its all ludicrous once we get into the tens of millions to kick a leather ball around.

Brighton have every right to value him as they see fit, whether thats 30m, or 50m, or 40m with Potter giving Txiki a complimentary reach around. On the flip side, City are well run enough to determine a valuation and stick to it.

We will see what happens. I hope it works out because he seems like a good player, but I dont want to be so arrogant or naive to assume its a foregone conclusion or that he's going to force his way here. That's a raggish mentality

Our club doesnt value Cucurella as highly. Other transfers have no impact on this one. Maybe City sees more value in Germany and won't go overpay as they can get a player they believe to have similar ability there. Its hard to know for sure but the players you have listed all have reasons to be more expensive
Walker-English tax we needed home grown players
Ake- home grown player can play multiple positions
Cancelo- was to help juve with their books
Laporte- played for bilbao had a release fee.
Mendy-was just of an incredible season with Monaco domestically and in Europe and was in the conversation of best lb in the world hindsight is 20 20, which could be a reason we won't go so high.

You still paid those prices and I can name others like Walker for £50m 5 years ago. Again why is it unreasonable that you pay about the same fee as all those other players.

It should of started at close to £40m. If you don't want to pay very close to £50m you should have left us alone. He made it clear he couldn't turn you down, we made it clear that we wouldn't stand in his way if a reasonable offer came in.

You have history of paying around £50m for defensive players. You even paid £45m for a similar quality player this very transfer window. But you are dealing with little old Brighton so you thought the offer should reflect that and we should be grateful in doubling our money in a 12 month period.

Why have rumoured reports of a 30m bid upset you so much, that you are up in the middle of the night arguing with people that for the best part agree with you?

If there was any truth to it, it was rejected off hand, the stall is already set out, Brighton might even be firmer about it as a reaction.

If there is no truth to it, which is just as if not more likely, then get it fucked.

Either way, not really worth giving a shit about. You'll get your 45ishM, one way or another. Or you won't but you'll keep your player. Nothing will be won or lost on this thread.

No I rate him at £10m as you rejected an £8m bid from us. There was no reports he would throw his toys out the bag. Infact up until now he seems very happy here and seems to only want to leave us for you.

I have said several time we have been here before with players. Two players spent many a hapy season with us after they wanted a move and the other got his move but for double the price of the original bid.

I do think that £30m bid was used to unsettle him,and because of that underhand tactic I hope we stick to our guns.

We didn't reject an £8m offer from you, City denied it, wasn't even remotely true.

McAtee had offers from United and Liverpool to join on a free transfer just six months ago, so why the fuck do you think he would contemplate a move to Brighton?

City turned down £20m plus from Southampton for Liam Delap just a month ago, so your derisory valuation of McAtee, considered one of the best young players in the country at his age, is amusing.

Tbh fella it's not what the fee starts as, it's what the final fee Brighton will accept and will City pay it that matters.
City want him and of course will try to start with an opening bid.
When a masterpiece work of art is auctioned at Sothebys the final bid is always higher than the first bid.
Is that first lower bid an insult?? No of course not,Its just business.
