He refused to go on stand-by so that's why he's not been picked.

Basically the story is after Kyle Walker got injured the FA rang Micah to tell him he won't be getting a call-up but would like him to go onto the stand-by list.... Micah felt offended as he didn't recieve a call from the manager (Hodgson) but the FA instead so refused to go on stand-by!!

It's his own doing but I say well done to him, why should he play second fiddle to some shit twats (G.Johnson and Phil Jones) when he's proven all season how immense he has improved since his dip in form....

He should have gone on the stand-by list. I can't be doing with all this prima donna 'the manager didn't phone me personally' crap. if he would have gone on the list he would have probably made it into the squad.

I'm sorry but if you were the best right back in the league all year with the most assists for your position and played for the team who had the best defence and won the league and also had international experience which the others didn't have. And then you were passed up for Johnson, Jones and Walker after being overlooked for years and years your telling me you wouldn't feel like telling England to fuck off?

Personally I don't blame him, being told that Jones, Johnson and Walker are better then you?? Then to be told Phil Jones is more versitle then you?? The manager pretty much should of said Micah you're average at best!!

Glad he turned down the opertunity to be on stand-by in the future they'll realise how valuable Micah is!!

The FA are picking the team they even admitted to refusing to pick Micah or Carrick as they both refused to be on stand-by!!

Why would the FA say themselves that "We" would refuse to pick??? Why would they not say "Mr Hodgson" would refuse to pick???

I've always had my doubts about the FA and the way the England squad is worked!

I particularly like the way Hodgson has stood by the principle of picking players who are in form.

Glen Johnson, Martin Kelly, Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and Andy Carroll have all had wonderful seasons.

Pity the Liverpool board didn't feel the same...

disgraceful incompentence from within the england set-up,to regardless if he was on standby or not to overlook micah is just staggering,i suppose apart from the honour of playing for your country what does playing with england achieve it certainly wont be lifting the euro championship or for that matter the world cup,may have the best league in the world,but on the international stage england imo are also rans and will continue like this until they select THE best players avaiable for each position...
