Middle East Conflict

However much some people support the aims and aspirations of the Palestinian people, making their argument in the aftermath of one of the world’s biggest terrorist attacks carried out in their name isn’t going to help their cause. For example those moronic Palestinian supporters in town yesterday are only going to make people think they support terrorism, and there’s no reason to believe they don’t. There is no argument that it was not a terrorist attack when 260 music festival attendees are shot in cold blood while trying to get away. Expressing support for Palestinians the day after that is clearly expressing support for that action. If they wanted to dissociate themselves from supporting terrorism they should have cancelled yesterday’s rally and held it not in the aftermath of the attack.

They have every right to go after Hamas but as you well know it's not as simple as that and they can't just go after hamas without killing civilians. The UN have confirmed that Israeli air strikes have hit a school in gaza. This is what is happening on both sides but you only condemn one side. By saying they have every right to retaliate you're saying that they have every right to kill the 500 civilians in Gaza yesterday.

One million children are caged in Gaza and have only ever known Israeli brutality. Their life is going to get a whole lot worse if that's even possible due to their grim existence. All power cut off, Food supply's gone and financial support being withdrawn from lots of countries.

This conflict has been the background to my life since the 80s and I can't be arsed with it anymore. Iv seen Israeli atrocities and hamasbollah atrocities. Their leaders will always take them to war and let the civilians take the punishment. That will never change. Iv learnt that they are hell bent on there not being peace, both sides (unless it suits them at that moment). And after a lifetime of it I find myself just not caring. And I wish the world would too.

Correct.

Let's be honest on here, how many people on here will condemn the atrocities committed this weekend by Hamas and how many are supporting them. I don't want to see 'yes but' answers, it's either condemn Hamas or support Hamas.

Total blockade of Gaza announced, no electricity, no food, no fuel.

I agree with no electricity and fuel but food and medicines have to be allowed through.

The Israelis voted for extreme right wing, religiously conservative Netanyahu and the Palestinians according to most polls are more aligned to hardline islamists Hamas than the more conciliatory Fatah, to the extent that Fatah doesnt really exist as a movement in Gaza, only in the West Bank.

It seems a long way from the days of the Arafat and Rabin. Instead we have two groups who both believe neither has a right to exist with no want or desire to negotiate.
