England is effectively now a soft fascist state with the likes of Cruella the evil bitch as our Home Secretary. It’s staggering that we could get anyone worse than that rancid twat Priti Patel.





Don’t be surprised for it become a crime to wave a Palestinian flag in the next week or so. They’ll go after peaceful protests next. Then they’ll go after protestors who are pro Palestinian on social media.

Surely the role of any government is to protect it's citizens. In the UK, where do you think a terrorist attack is most likely to come from?

A post 6 above yours mooted it. It can’t be ruled out because of who our Home Secretary is, can it?

Instead of doing that though, the6 should condemn/be saddened by the killing of innocent people on both sides in order that British citizens on either side of the conflict feel the government has included them all, rather than leaving one side feel unwanted.

I wonder what she finds wrong with people wanting the basic right to freedom
 
I've read the bits of debate on religion, atheism etc and my experience is this. I was brought up a Catholic, taught I'd go to hell if not good, went to church and then lapsed. My current position is probably 60/40 on there being no God. As others have said regardless of what you believe there is no conclusive proof. I watched a TV debate a few years ago where a scientist, when asked 'what was before the big bang' answered that some in the scientific community believe that 'something can come out of nothing' which is not far from 'there has always been a God'. Anyway I digress, my main point is that if you do not believe in God then you do not believe in human exceptionality. i.e if we were not put here by God then we are in no way different to any other life form on the planet (except to ourselves). Now that may not sound very important but it does mean that perhaps the life of an elephant, lion, tiger etc does have equal value to a human life. Certainly pet owners mourn the loss of their pet much, much, much more than the death of the 150,000 humans who die each day.
