Milner back in midfield

Would gladly see Milner and Rodwell own the central midfield against Stoke. They are two very energetic and strong players who will run and run until the final whistle.
Start Yaya on the bench, let him realize has no god given right to assume he's a given starter. (but Maybe he has a contractual right?)
He can come in for Silva or any of the two CM's if necessary.

Give Negredo a chance from the start and Jovetic should be ready to give it a go by then.

Firstly; exactly what makes Yaya our best player? Please elaborate.
And secondly, yes I'd have no problem subbing him for a game.

Re: Milner back in midfield

milner and rodwell in midfield, yes

IF WERE FUCKING EVERTON OR WEST BROM,OR ANY OTHER MEDI CLUB

Re: Milner back in midfield

Nah hes got no chance of getting in the starting XI, he's English.... Despite being arguably the best player throughout pre season hes not been given a sniff yet this season, its criminal.

Re: Milner back in midfield

Sorry, but can someone name some matches where Milner has played centrally?

I'm pretty sure he's only ever been used wide right, especially in the Prem.

QPR away 0-0 and he was shite.

Love Milner btw.

I like Milner as well.

It's become a bit of a myth on here that "Milner's best games for us have been when he's played centrally". He's never played centrally if I remember correctly. He's been used wide right or as a make shift right back throughout his time here.

I don't see that changing to be honest. It looks like Garcia and Rodwell will be our back up midfielders.

Maybe. Although I never thought he looked very good for us in that position.
He never did. Folks just can't seem to get used to that. He is a decent hardworking player. Has good days (where he hustles a lot, takes an amazing shot here and there, and puts himself about.) But he is no star.
This doesn't mean he can't play in the middle. But he will over the long haul, be weaker than Dihno, Roddy or Yaya.

there was a home game near the end of last season where he played in cm, got motm too.

it's definitely his best position.
