Am I getting confused or is Smith that greasy weasel-like twat that regularly appears on Sunday Supplement?

Here's the lovely fella.

Ahhh yes, the beacon of honest reliable journalism himself. Certainly won't be any motive behind his words.

HAHA THIS IS FUCKING HILARIOUS. Everything they said about man city and about mancini from the "absurdity" in paying yaya toure such high wages to the "total lack of unity within the club", has been proved wrong. I just laugh at what people tell me about mancini's incompetence now. Mourinho does everything for himself. He is not a long-term solution that we need. I rate Bobby to manage us for the next decade and he wants to do so as well.

I think it's common knowledge that Mourinho is nailed on for U****d when Taggart finally departs. He'll have some say in recruiting his own replacement and he's one of the only people with the bollocks to walk in to that job like he's the best they've ever had. Guardiola is too loyal to Barca to leave and they've got no need to sack him. Mourinho will want to win La Liga with Real Madrid first and they're well clear of Barca at the moment.

I'm happy with Roberto at City although Mourinho would be my replacement if he left of his own accord.

I don't think this assumption is valid that Soriano knocked Mourinho back at Barcelona, he automatically would do the same here. Soriano's book makes clear that Mourinho wasn't a fit for Barcelona, at that time. Doesn't mean that Soriano would therefore deem Mourinho not a fit for City at this time. Very different conditions apply.

If City were to make a change, then the overriding requirement is for the manager with the best chance of winning stuff. We're not currently an establishment club, and what we need to drive us forward is success on the pitch. I suspect that Soriano is as likely as anyone else to see that as the priority and act accordingly.

(In any event, this is a decision that will be taken in Abu Dhabi and just implemented by the CEO, not made by the CEO himself).

Totally agree. The 'project' is to make City the biggest and best club in Europe. This is a huge undertaking, and will take many years of sustained success to achieve. There will be plenty of debate about whether it's sensible to sack a relatively successful manager in favour of a more successful one. There would undoubtedly be a great many disappointed City fans who've taken Mancini to their hearts and loathe Mourinho. There would also be a great deal of criticism in the press were Mancini to get the boot, especially if he delivers the title. Lets not beat about the bush, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to appoint the best manager in world football today, and also ensure that Mourinho isn't a constant thorn in our side by stengthening a rival club. My gut instinct is that this decision will not be shirked, and we won't wait until the end of the season to see how the title pans out before making it.

It's interesting that so many people on here say they don't want Mou. If he came he would be like a god. He knows how to get the best out of players and a team. Look at how Inter fell apart the second he went out of the door.

1. Mourinho has a huge ego. He has always made it his business to crawl up Fergie's arse and I think it is quite obvious that he fancies himself as the man to take over in a couple of years when the old dog leaves.

2. Mourinho has always been very complimentary about Spurs. He even went as far as to call us a bigger club than Chelsea when he was in England.

3. London is Mou's favourite city and he still has a house there.

1+2 +3 = ........ Mourinho pitching up at Spurs for a couple of seasons before taking over at Utd when Fergie leaves?

I can but dream!

His record in Europe is significantly better than Mancini's. If our Owners target Champions League success in 5 years then, at the moment, your money has to be on Mourinho to achieve it.

Might be a longshot. Arsenal. Wenger has said he will go and step down when they find the right man for the job. Jose if the rumours are true wants out and back to England. Wenger would stand aside for Jose but would Jose come back to manage another London club. I think he would do it but these jobs will only be Spurs if Harry goes to England or Wenger stepping aside for Jose at Arsenal. Wouldnt rule out the England job either.

I can see fergie leaving them lot at the end of the season if they win the league again, that would make it a nice round 20 times plus he could alter his 'not in my lifetime' speech to say he meant in his managerial lifetime.

I really can see him quitting the ragsif they win the title this year, leaving the post open for Mourinho.
