Neymar

The press are only mentioning a Neymar/city connection so that when he moves to barca/real they can run big headlines saying Neymar rejects city. Standard tabloid tactics really.

From ESPN:

Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano has dismissed reports that the club are looking to sign Radamel Falcao and Neymar.

Atletico Madrid striker Falcao has been strongly linked with a summer transfer this summer, with the likes of City, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Monaco all mooted as potential suitors.

Santos forward Neymar has also been linked with a number of high-profile European clubs, although the Brazil international has been tipped to remain in his home nation until after the 2014 World Cup.

Soriano, though, has claimed City are not tracking the duo at present, as they plot for life without sacked manager Roberto Mancini having failed to retain the Premier League title this season.

"Neymar and Falcao? [These reports are] false, they have never been on our agenda," he is quoted as saying on Tuttomercatoweb.com.

Soriano also rejected suggestions that Sergio Aguero will leave the club, following reports that the Argentina international could return to Spain.

"The first thing I want to emphasise is that we have never thought of selling Aguero. El Kun will be happy to stay with us this year," Soriano added.

Aguero, 24, signed for City from Atletico Madrid for £38 million in 2011 and has since scored 35 goals in 64 Premier League matches.

Sounds like the deal is actually done at last pending his signature, Neymar to Barca has been one of the most boring transfer sagas in history. £25.5million, I guess Barca used Barca tactics in getting the price down.

BREAKING: Neymar completes his transfer to Barça. Fee: €23M. [€30M if Barça win Champions League in next 3 years] Salary: €7M per-year.

Christ on a bike, I guess this became "Neymar wants to go to Barca, nowhere else, or he'll leave on a free contract in 2014" hence the fee.

The bitter part of me hopes he finds himself failing as second fiddle to Messi for screwing Santos out of what should have been a near record transfer fee.

They signed their own death certificate by signing that pre-agreement. Assuming that's all true, obviously.
