I can only assume(hope) that Mancini is confident of securing another DM before the deadline closes, Rodwell at this time is no where near an adequate replacement for De Jong.

De Jong is class and would be a much weaker team without him, people think he has no vision but when watching him play for Holland he seems to take more responsibility and have seen him thread some quality passes, we already have players for that so De Jongs role here was to pass it to them.

Not sure who could replace him, probably a 1% chance of DDR coming.
Rodwell is simply a better footballer than De Jong. CIty does not need a specialist DM. Haven't needed one for 2 years.

agree rodwell is a better footballer and i belief will become a future city and england first teamer

Man I wish we would have kept NDJ to take out Van Persie when we meet them in December then could sell him then in that transfer window...

In time Rodwell might be a better replacement, but not this season.. After watching recent performances i would be slightly worried with losing our only recognised DM

Recent performances? You mean our two league games - one where Rodwell started and the other where De Jong started and we conceded 2 in both?

I wouldn't sell NDJ unless we have another DM coming in. He does a very valuable job.

I assumed that is why we bought Rodwell and why we are getting the young Serb from Florence.
Nastasic is a defender.

Rodwell has talent, but you need an experienced player in the that position. City will suffer in the CL if they have to depend on Rodwell.

Absolutely gutted to lose Jongie. If we win the league this year the scum and fergie will fall apart. RM has not managed to get the big guns he wanted so i think we should have stuck with what we had

Mancini must know what he is doing..

There is a lot of sentimental stuff on here with De Jong but at the end of the day he has turned down a new contract..

He must be after top top money because i cannot remember any other player moaning that they not paid enough at City

Sky think he is going to AC Milan ?

Any idea his supposed wages agreed with Milan? I don't think Milan is going to pay him even that 100k that we supposedly offered as new contract..
Ridiculous of him to jump ship to Milan. Yes, he'll get more games to play, but far less wages and likelihood of future trophies is dramatically reduced. He would have done better imo, if he did move to Inter..

Best of luck, NDJ, if you actually move..Really hope we replace De Jong with someone even better..
