Noel Gallagher on Talksport

Latch onto the club? He's been going to the games long before he became a star.
Some right bitterness on this board.
Just cannot be doing with the focus on Noel or Liam in the private boxes or wondering into the dressing when we win something. Goes without saying I prefer him to Eamonn Holmes or James Nesbitt but should have stuck to ripping off Beatles tunes for a living.

He latched onto the club 30 years ago when we were sh...average , quite surprised a rock star would be gloryhunting in the third tier of the football league , and if someone sticks a microphone under your nose , you will get an opinion. Jason Manford often gives his opinion as well , so he must be a dick as well.
I think Jason Manford is alright actually.

He doesn't go to city games for a living mate, still making some decent music as it happens. Off to see him in Glasgow next month actually so I hope he is anyway.
He gets invited into the changing rooms, he doesn't just wander in off his own back. I don't expect him to be everybody's cup of tea, nobody is universally liked and during his time with oasis I'm sure he pissed many people off. I just can't wrap my head around why he'd be disliked for his love of City. If I was lucky enough to be in his position I'd be doing exactly the same.

Fair enough changed my mind a bit with what you say, he is probably just not my cup of tea as you mention don't want to slag him for being a blue. 10 years ago we would have been arguing about the merits of Curly Watts as our famous fan so I suppose we have moved on....

I played tambourine with him once at a men they couldn't hang gig, rock and fucking roll :-)

I think the players like him being there. Plus, he can't be pushing it, as he says it's the first time he's spoke to Silva, and the Spanish magician gave him his shirt and thanked Noel.
Football players want to be rock n roll stars, and singers wanna be footballers. Messi is an Oasis fan too - every little thing helps.
And like it or not, London is a great place if you have the money. Noel is just living the dream - lucky bastard ;-)

Yeah because famous singers and rock stars have never been seen with sportsmen before have they?

No him and his brother are complete dicks I hate how they latch onto the club, Noel thinking he is some sort of unofficial fans spokesman.
"Latch on to the club"?!?!?!?

Oasis were twenty times bigger than City at least. I'm no friend of Noel Gallagher but I spent an evening with him once at Glastonbury in the mid 90s when they were on the cusp of international stardom. All we talked about was City. He loved the club then and he does now, obviously.

I hate this fucking thread. Jealousy, bitterness and the most head-spinning small mindedness. And anyone who criticises anyone for moving away from Manchester is a thicko.
