This is a construction discussion, I think?I tend to go to a football match to watch the game, but each to their own.
It was better when it was the scoreboard endI always remember the clapping along, foot stomping songs being associated with the old North Stand. Great times.

I remember the short trousers. In them days you did not wear long trousers until you were 14.MOST will not have had the pleasure of the old scoreboard end.
I had to wear shorts even on the coldest February days, sat on a freezing concrete wall.
When we moved to the Platt lane, it was luxury to sit on a shiny plank, despite the odd arse splinter.
Probably why the Pep stand seems space age for FOC's like me
In August 1965 when I told my dad I didn't want to go with him anymore and was going to the games with my mates we stood at the front against the wall right in the corner where the scoreboard end joined the main standMOST will not have had the pleasure of the old scoreboard end.

This was in the old second division and for those who don't know we had 3 attendances over 40k and 2 at 34k. In the FA cup we had a 37k, 52k, 56k and a 63k. No fans my arse.
Even if it’s a floodlit game ?? ;-)I love that on any football photo you can tell the time of year by the shade of the crowd, the darker the colder, the lighter the warmer.
Todays visit, concert preperations in full swing
My guess it will for gantries for lighting etcI get why they need to remove seats at the Pep end, to put the stage in etc but why have they removed those strips of seats at the south stand end. Can anybody shed some light on it for me please.
Its for access from the concorse to the pitch (and back again) for thousands of peopleI get why they need to remove seats at the Pep end, to put the stage in etc but why have they removed those strips of seats at the south stand end. Can anybody shed some light on it for me please.
The correct answer is the post above yours.Probably lighting rigs
Ah yeah, that seems really obvious now that you have said it, thanks. Its for access from the concorse to the pitch (and back again) for thousands of people
