Odds slashed on them playing slane castle next year to 2/1
Yeah, exactly this. The atmosphere was lovely.. everyone just enjoying themselves, whether they were in or out of their heads, or selling cold beers and bucket hats from their doorsteps, or sipping pints outside every pub for a square mile around the stadium.. not a hint of bother.Jealous I missed it.
Hopefully not long until they're back. However it probably won't have the same buzz as these concerts if they do come back next year.
From following all things Oasis on social media recently a few things that have struck me are firstly the amount of younger people who wouldn't have been born when Whats the Story came out, who are fans.
Also the friendly atmosphere in the crowd. In a world full of misery and division at the minute, this is rare.
Went to see Queen there in july 1986. Found the venue disappointing. The concert had to finish in daylight, as the venue didn't have floodlighting back then. So the light show was negated by the daylight. And (being an Irish summer), it pissed down. Plus, it was a nightmare to get away from afterwards. I get the fact that it's an iconic Irish venue, but I was very unimpressed with it. Croke Park would be the better venue these days.Slane is a bit of a nightmare, travel-wise.. but a good venue if you get the weather. Hard to beat the noise generated in the bowl of a stadium though..
Couldn't argue with that.. saw The Verve and The Rolling Stones there on different years. Underwhelmed on both occasions. It's just TOO big maybe. And at the Stones, we spent most of the gig trying to stay on our feet and not get washed down the hill in a river of p'ss, mud and sh!te.. the stage was miles away and the busses back to Dublin were even more miles away..Went to see Queen there in july 1986. Annoying little brother the bum rub:):)
I see them more as glam rock than the beatles.Don’t think I’ll ever understand the derisive Beatles comparisons from people (mainly come from the US). I listen to the live versions of slide away and bring it on down and they sound nothing alike.

Heroin is very expensive£1b so each fan spending £4,500 in the city.
Obviously a bit deluded.
The live version is outstanding; miles better than the album versionWeirdly for me it’s been Stand By Me, one that I was never that keen on, just felt so powerful and emotional that one live on this tour.
Are We Them? For tribute bands & cricket....Ashton CC do an annual Fields Of Gold festival, think it's the first weekend of Sept.
I've not been but gets really good reviews over the 2 days.
To be fair, she would have been 68 at the time and it’s rare for the Irish to ever go truly mad for our monarchy.Went to see Queen there in july 1986. Found the venue disappointing. I bought one of the football shirts from Adidas (blue) In my usual XL but they’re bloody enormous so it’s still in the bag with the tags still on it.. I’ll have to try and find a Large and sell mine onCracking Day out yesterday - down on the bus from Belfast, parked up at a decent pub, few beers, walked up to Croke Park (all very well organised) - great sets by Cast and Ashcroft then the main men who were absolutely superb several beers more then back on the bus and home in bed for about 2 a.m. Beers were €8 pint which all things considered I was happy enough with. Some of the merchandising though I thought was a bit eye watering - £40 for a bucket hat FFS
