Pep: 'The players deserve a full stadium, we need our fans!'

Just a quick one on the early leavers. I left after clapping the team off and then walked to the tram queue, by then it was large and we did not move for ages(This was the so called fast track queue) . Two people in front of me were talking. They were fed up of the queues at the tram and one suggested that in future they should leave earlier, before the final whistle, the other agreed.

I know the Met line up trams for the Rags. Perhaps the club need to speak to the management of the tram system and get that improved as it is a joke. One every few minutes at the Rags, one every 6 -12 minutes at ours ?

To slow down the 80 minute exodus, instead of throwing the gates open to let people out the club should make the early darters leave through a turnstyle, just the one, until the final whistle has gone. This will necessitate leavers having to queue to get out. The club could say it was a safety issue to stop people getting in unchecked by security when they throw the gates open towards the end of the game.
On reflection this will not work as they will just leave even earlier to avoid the queue at the turn style. As you were.

You're flogging a dead horse pal, City fans are unique as they have shown over the years.
It will probably catch on and all the stadiums in the premier will empty early.

Why have you got a fixation about middle aged men booing ? My son is 30, hardly middle aged and he booes just as loudly as me. Plenty of youngsters around me also boo but don't worry I will tell them to wait until they are older befoe they have the audacity to upset Mr Gill.

My guess is that is that you've got a fair percentage of these fans who are just followers, incapable of self opinions. Its likely that they have no idea why they're booing just doing for a laugh and because their mates are doing it. I'm not sure what the answer, hopefully they'll grow out of it. As for the early leavers well as long as this goes on we can't ever argue against the "Emptihad" jibe. The club needs to look at the traffic congestion after the game to see if that can improve it.

I have never seen this. There were even long queues 90 mins after the World Cup final. They may put doublers on one line, but never seen them lined up ever.

Supporting our team is not a disturbance.

I think it would be better & much louder anyhow, even if Pep hadn't said anything.
Many fans see the booing of UEFA as supporting our team as there is a very valid reason for it. The first person I can recall from City asking us to knock it on the head was Pep and as far as I'm aware there wasn't a caveat to say 'But if you sing Blue Moon, that's perfectly OK'.

So the substitution of booing for Blue Moon hasn't come from Pep, it's your suggestion? Why do you want to show such subversive insurgency by singing Blue Moon, especially as you've said Pep asked us to stop and you agree with it? I'm confused or am I missing something?

I've made it plain enough during the thread.

Can't be arsed anymore.

I won't be booing it anymore & unless Pep's words have sparked more people to boo it, then it will be a pretty tame protest as it was last week & eventually die a death.

I followed my usual routine when we are more than 1 up. On the 90th min I left my seat and moved to the back of the stand. At each break in play I moved to the next block. By the final whistle I was watching from the back of the block nearest the exit. A quick clap and on my way. I watched every kick, but my seat would have been one of the empty ones during added time, along with the other few thousand seats vacated by those of us at the back of the stand.

It was a magnificent performance yesterday but we effectively put the cue on the rack when De Bruyne was subbed. We just killed the game after that. So, no matter how brilliant the performance was, I don't think its that surprising that people chose to give the last few minutes a miss.

Liverpool always sing over the CL anthem at Anfield. Usually with their own anthem and they do the same at Wembley with the national anthem,They did it last season with the Europa League one in the games I watched.

Just sing Blue Moon.

Corky I may be wrong but a number of times I have needed to get into town when the rags are at home. I thought the sensible thing was to go during but near the end of the match and use the tram. On the two occasions I have tried this quite a few trams passed through the station marked 'Not in Service'. I assume they were going to park up ready for the final whistle. I haven't bothered trying it a third time.
Also after a match I have parked up a few times at Brooklands to pick someone up. I watch the trams come in within minutes of each other. There is no way they are all normal service which on a Saurday is every 12 minutes.
They may argue there is more of them to get rid of but if they put three or four doubles on doing a shuttle to Piccadilly train station it would shift a lot of Blues very quickly.

No doubt they get more on the Alty line, and they also have the Eccles line with Pomona being dead and the one I use to go there these days. Never seen them being queued up but it may happen.

For the Olympics and Rugby League everyone seems to go on he tram it struggles, despite having far more and more frequent trams than us. I agree they they should have more doubles and twice as many, but if people are prepared to wait 35 mins to get on what is their incentive? If I want to get back quick and I can't walk I just get on the buses, but if you clap the team off you are in danger of missing them all. I got the tram after the West Ham game, the queues were there visible from City Square for about 50 mins, massive farce.
