PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

These were the facts according to CAS:

And this was the club's submissions:

UEFA's submission was basically, yeah but it looks a bit fishy (my non-legal assessment).

CAS didn't comment on the merits (time-barred), but did hear evidence from the contract lawyer and a SVP of Etisalat:View attachment 85573
Thanks. It does look weird that some of The sponsor money went to MCFC and the rest to ADUG but if both payments are clearly from the sponsor then there is no case to answer.

Sounds like UEFA made a guess and we’re wrong.

Nah, not a chance it was only 10 minutes mate. There were rumours doing the rounds in the days leading up to the announcement that it had gone our way. I seem to recall that Pep was rather smug in one particular post-match interview. Ian Cheeseman tweeted a few days before that he'd heard it was positive news. And someone who runs one of the biggest supporters club branches was gobbing off that we'd won the case to all and sundry down the pub a couple of nights before it was announced.
That’s true but I think I remember Sam Lee ( it could have been someone else but it was part of a big piece of what happened on the day) later saying that despite the previous reports it was only 10 minutes. Either could be correct.

That just shows how much Pep and his staff have improved the players. City havent spent that it's what they are worth on the transfer market
Correct. Contrast that to the rag shit show. I don't know the figures, but the squad is likely to be worth significantly less than what they paid for it. Possibly in the region of a 50% reduction in value. Say spent £500m but worth less than £250m?

Take Mason Zidane for example he's only been there a day.
They paid 50 odd million. If they sold him tomorrow they wouldn't get anywhere near that

Yeah me too. I watch the studio program as well as the podcast.
They just don’t seem to have the bias of the English media, maybe because they are based in the States
No my brer they (Gab and Juls) are both based out of London, and are dialing in from London for the ESPN FC show for which the other pundits are based in States. But these 2 gents are in London.

But yes, I like their approach and unbiased opinions. Probably because Juls is a PSG Fan and is more or less in the same boat :). And Gab is a neutral American Italian who is a more SERIE A fan....alhtough i dont know which team he supports.

For the sake of completeness. This was UEFA's response to City's submission on Etisalat:

Not much there, to be honest. Just restating facts and interpreting them in a way to suit. Should need more than that, I imagine, to counter actual financial records and testimony from multiple club, owner and sponsor executives.

Perhaps he has, but I'm getting weary of all the shit being thrown at City.
I should be spending the summer with a selection of thoughts running through my head:
Standing on row 7, near the corner flag, with everybody screaming for a penalty as the ball breaks to Rodri then all hell breaks loose.
Twenty minutes later in the same position not having a clue how Lumpapoo missed that chance until it was shown on the screen.
Block 534 at Wembley watching Gundo hit the winner in the FA Cup final.
Reliving many home games with the view from my seat.
And fans from all over praising us. Not rags and dippers, or even Arsenal, but the rest as we've shown the monopoly can be broken. But instead I've had months of legal bullshit clouding our magnificence and that's why I want more public defiance from the club.
So many arguments are being dismantled on here by supporters who only have a basic knowledge of what is going on. The club has the full details and should ridicule our accusers at every opportunity. City clearly want to grow the "global brand", but shit sticks, and there is a lot of shit being thrown in our direction.
Dare I say that City and its owners are achieving their objectives despite the continuing media and PL rule changing.
I fear that complacency and even entitlement may take over should it be totally fair.

So let them do their worst because it brings out our best.

Just an opinion from an older City supporter than most on this Forum.

Obviously all this is based on transfemarkt guestimates of values, but here's how much they think City have increased the value of players:

They reckon our squad value has increased by €350m compared to their value when they made their debuts.

It also shows the utter foolishness of quoting this as a statistic, because in most cases their "value" bears very little resemblance to the prices we actually paid.

What it clearly shows, is that Nick Harris's use of the word Intelligence for his work should be an issue under the Trade Descriptions Act :)
