Always great to see opposition fans posting constructively on BM.

So is Jose getting any grief for not giving Lamps a contract for this season given he's proved more than worthy of one?

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

Super frank.. He will stay till the end of the season and and lift the title how Mourinho will enjoy that.

NYCFC announced today the signing of England National Team and Chelsea FC legend Frank Lampard.

New York City FC, Major League Soccer’s 20th expansion team, is thrilled to announce the signing of England National Team and Chelsea FC legend Frank Lampard. One of the most illustrious and respected English Premier League midfielders of all time, Lampard becomes the team’s fourth team member, as the Club continues to assemble a competitive and dynamic squad ahead of its inaugural season next year.

Lampard, whose signing was officially announced at a community event in Brooklyn Bridge Park this morning, brings with him the highest level of football ability and a wealth of experience to the new franchise which makes its debut in March 2015.

Season tickets to see Frank Lampard and New York City FC’s inaugural season in MLS are on sale now. Call 855-77-NYCFC or visit http://www.nycfc.com/tickets to order online.

Fans can also purchase their exclusive Frank Lampard New York City FC shirt at nycfc.com/shop, limited supplies are available.

No wonder there´s one hell of a shitstorm in US media about this.. He and Villa was the poster boys for merchandise and season tickets

Question - at any point in any of their marketing does it say that Frank Lampard will be playing for them on opening day?

Or does it use wording such as "see Lampard this coming season" which they still will do?

I don't like the tone of your comment .WTF you mean by "he gave you" ? You make it sound like he is doing us a favor for free of cost.
He is on city's pay roll and he is only doing his job.

I don't mean anything bad about it, and of course you're right when you say he's on your pay roll and doing his job. That doesn't mean he's the reason you got those points, as he scored the goals. Maybe it's just something lost in translation, when Hazard scored the other day to equalize against Soton, I also said he gave us a point that day. Although I still feel we could've got the 3 points there and we should've gotten a penalty but that's a different story. Anyway, didn't mean something bad with the phrase 'he gave you those points', I just meant he scored and his goals are what made the difference in the amount of points you got. And yes, of course it's his job, as it is the job of other Citizens on your team, but he was still the one who did it.

Yes, he is. And maybe rightfully so. I was sad to see Lampard leave, and even more sad to see him joining you guys, but that's just the stuff that makes football great you know, the emotions.

Mou did offer him a contract though, but with a paycut, if I'm not mistaken. And lamps didn't take it. I think that's fair, the guy's a professional and can of course sign the contract he wants to, but many Chelsea fans disagree and find this hard to come to peace with.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

In English people usually say "he earned you those points" rather than "he gave you". Not really a big problem, it's just what people normally say.

Re: Frank Lampard (staying until end of season confirmed P11

Frank Lampard just embarrassed himself with this decision. He has disrespected the club he promised to commit himself to. Whether he wanted to stay at MCFC is not relevant -- he made a committment to NYCFC. As a result, he will never have the support he could have had from NYCFC fans. This is not the way business is done and this kind of thing will not sit well with New York sports fans. There is nothing mutually beneficial about this relationship. The decision is more upsetting for the precedent it sets.

Yes, he is. And maybe rightfully so. We'll see. In fact, Mou did offer Lamps a new contract, but with a pay cut and Frank didn't take it. I believe that's fair, he's a professional footballer and can sign any contract he wants to, but it's the fact that he declined a new Chelsea contract (because of the - i assume - big pay cut that some Chelsea fans have a hard time to come to peace with.

I suspect that some of the frustration currently being aimed at Lampard might be coming JM's way if Chelsea have a dip in form. And rightly so - if the situation was reversed our manager would be getting slaughtered!

Actually its totally relevant, and you'll see him a couple of months late, coming to you hopefully as a Premier League winner, though I suspect you may not like that if it happens.

"Will not sit well with New York sports fans". In football terms you may as well say "well this doesn't sit well with the Marrakech sports fans". Nobody in the world of football gives a shit about New York and City only have a camp there in case somebody one day might do.

You're a total irrelevance in this world and your lack of knowledge about this is hilarious to everybody else.

Hello, I am a Chelsea fan and a Talkchelsea member. And while it's true that some people over at TalkChelsea do post these disgraceful comments about one of our legends, it is wrong of you to say all Chelsea fans think about Frank in this way.

Frank has been a good signing for you and I'm happy to see Frank doing what I've always loved to see him do. Infiltrate, appear out of thin air, and score. But it also saddens me to see him score so much for a direct rival of us...

He gave you three points againt us (in difference between us and City)
He gave you 2 extra points against Leicester City
He gave you 2 extra points against Sunderland today

Not to mention he killed of the games against Hull and Southampton.

While it's true that it saddens me a lot that super Frank has given you quite some points (about 7 at least) this season in the title race and I believe we would still be leading by more than just the alphabetical order of our clubs' names, I and many Chelsea fans still consider Frank a true Blue Legend and I hope he gets a standing ovation of many of the Chelsea fans when you visit the Bridge. I won't be happy when he scores, that's for sure, but saying all Chelsea fans think Frank's a c**t is wrong of you. The TalkChelsea board, as are the fans, have divided opinions about him but you shouldn't post just one side of the opinions.

Good luck in the title race, I hope we win the league this year but you can't deny the fact that Lampard spiced things up!

Nah, most of your fans are pretty good. Just posted that because it was surprising how vocal a few of your fans got. I know plenty will be singing his name when we come to London to play you.

NYFC fans that don't exist will not support him.

Try starting in the NWC Div 1 at best.

Come on lads go easy, chelsea and arsenal lost, united and liverpool only drew, but little old city won, with super frank ensuring the points.

Its got to hurt a little more than normal.

Nothing beneficial?

New York will see a new stadium built to house all these "unwavering" supporters, where they can witness the likes of Frank Lampard, David Villa and I'm sure many more for years to come; not just 3 months or so.

If you don't want a new team, new stadium and the chance to see some fantastic players then I'm sure someone else will.
