I have just received a text saying wigan have been allocated 21000 tickets for the final. Interesting. I wonder if we have been given more

Thoughts on me getting a final ticket? Got one quite comfortably in 2011.

Its not perfect but its the best judge of loyalty we have. Those that go to some random Europa League game will end up with more points than those that dont. For that matter those that sign up for the cup scheme will end up with more points than those that don't.
In addition if you've ever let anyone use your ticket to buy an away game that again gives you loyalty points for showing no loyalty.
Just like there's no requirement for a cup scheme member to attend a game.
A 50 year old man with a season ticket is not more loyal than an 18 year old fan with a season ticket. He's just lived longer!
The 50 year old has shown more loyalty to the club over time and deserves recognition for it.
Loyalty has to be constantly shown and be joining the cup scheme that shows loyalty and a willingness to support city no matter who the opposition.
This is where ideology comes into it. IMO loyalty shouldn't be forgotten about the day you dont dont sign up to a scheme. Particularly when the terms if the scheme make it difficult for many to sign up for it.
You obviously believe you should now be able to cherry pick the games you get tickets for based on the fact in the past you had a lot of points!
Yes, I believe the money, time and commitment people have shown to the club over years/decades should entitle them to some form of recognition over someone who has signed up for their first card and has the spare cash to join a scheme.
Once again I fully support the idea that scheme members get an advantage by signing up. Up to 600 points (close to a years worth of away games), points for the individual games, capped ticket prices for the early rounds and IMO they should get the opportunity to buy a ticket a couple of categories before they otherwise would.
Loyalty points are not forgotten when you join a scheme, people with more loyalty points rightly get priority within the scheme.
A 50 year old has not shown more loyalty, he is just older. A city fan who is 18 and being going to city for the last 10 years has shown more loyalty than a 50 year old city fan who has only being going for the last 20 years. The difference is he's been alive longer so has had the opportunity to go to more games (even though for the first 30 years of his life he couldn't be bothered).

I sourced my Final tickets elsewhere.
Left nothing to chance last summer and added all the cup schemes to my already Platinum /Champs league membership.
My points jumped best part of 1200 overnight and now nigh 6,000.
We got knocked out nice and early by Villa in the league cup and have roughly paid £60 in addition for the FA Cup run.
So about £80 quid for a 1200 bump and and final ticket.
A no brainer.
