Political relations between UK-EU

Unbelievable low punch from the french health minister saying the uk is talking risks with our vaccination programme, presumably only to detract from their really poor attempt at their own vaccination programe. Different flag same politcian stance always first to the lifeboats while blaming others.

The French leadership have looked total pricks recently, if they didn’t already.

Macron is a weirdo as well.

Well - TBF, I thought it was a late night post after a few too many beers - so not worth the effort to reply to.

How else do you explain someone getting all agitated about what Australia and Canada might to at some future point or about all sorts of convoluted imaginings about the SE Asian countries rushing to enter into political integration pacts with Japan.

If you were actually not pissed then I can only assume that such convoluted imaginings provide you with some form of defence/coping mechanism.

Perhaps the realism has hit home that the root cause of Brexit and the future fractures that are going to occur across the EU are simply down to the ideologues who basically hijacked a major trading bloc to service their dreams of a European Superstate.

Maybe the penny has finally dropped for you and rather than accept that fact you would rather project onto fanciful and pretty embarrassing speculation.

Closer political union was an objective that was mentioned in the opening statement of the Treaty of Rome..... we always knew what we were signing up to.

Apologies for misunderstanding. So it’s very simple for me. Ok if it is a trading bloc, not ok if it has ambitions of federalist state.

I don’t know if the original articles of incorporation for the EEC alluded to any futuristic ambition that the EU became or it was merely “mission creep” that we repeatedly voted to allow.

Now is anyone going to ask for a referendum on joining the CPTPP ;)

Literally the first paragraph of the Treaty of Rome of 1958

Once again the UK Tories renege on an agreement that they were signed up to and fully aware of.

You have clutched at that straw before

Didn't work then either - but it does show just how desperate the Remainer position has become

I'm criticising the UK for prioritising long distance trade, something the EU isn't doing due to the massive single market they have. All countries need to start doing this, not just us, not just the EU.
You are doing more digging on this than UVDL is on her vaccine fuck up

He is one MP. You vote for your own representative.

Had you advised your own MP that although you were opposed to leaving the EU, it was a reality and democracy must be respected, therefore getting in a Labour Government and we'd have had a Labour Government negotiating our terms of leaving.

None of you did that, you wanted to oppose the act of leaving entirely, the general public got pissed off and voted either for the one party that advocated leaving the EU with a deal, or taking vital votes away to reduce Labour/Tory remainer influence in Parliament. Remember how well Change UK did?

Well done guys!

Referendum was not counted on constituency lines (see what the Tories did there) so contacting your MP was a pointless exercise (mines Jo Churchill so its a pointless exercise anyway )..... in any event 486 MPs stated that they would vote Remain themselves.

yeah, the UK doesn't have any vaccines.

AstraZeneca is a listed compay whose largest owners are US wealth funds. Astra was founded in the UK, Zeneca was founded in Sweden. They merged. At no point did AZ come under ownership of the UK Govt.

What seems to be missing from the reporting in the UK papers is the outcome of the disput i.e. the UK contract will be supplied from all European production and the EU contract will be supplied from all European production.
Yep - using best reasonable endeavours....
