Premier League or Champions League?

What do you want us to win more?

Er, that's not really right, Tolm. Far be it from me to defend the rags, but it just isn't. United competed for two years 56-58. They then didn't participate until the mid-sixties: 65-66, 67-68, then 68-69 purely by virtue of having won it. That is, three times in that decade. They then disappear completely from the competition in its old, European Cup format, for obvious reasons. They then participate from 93 onwards, and yes, they are in most (but not quite all) seasons, thanks to the new format. And even in the last decade, there have been three seasons when they weren't in it (and no guarantee whatsoever of them being in it at the end of this season, of course).

So three times in what, 25 years of competing it in it?

Here's a better one - Real Madrid?

United have three times in almost 50 years of competing, Liverpool 'only' six, for similar lifespan.

We have been more than competing in the Champions League for just ten years.

Nottingham Forest, Villa, both have won it, but it counts for little apart from snide boasting.

The Premier League must always come first for me, anything else is a bonus.

It shows you are the best.

Just as Chelsea aren't the best team in the world for winning the Club World Cup.

You mean the very same best team in the world that had one shot on target against us in over 3 hours of football this season?

Each to their own but I just don't get why on earth you wouldn't vote to win the Champions League. The club needs it, it's the path that the all the investment/plans was designed to lead to. One day all this we have may end, to think it might end without a European Cup sat in the trophy room would be so sad. Let's just worry about our club not the Scousers.

And besides. We can just win both to avoid the choice!

Premier League.

If anyone votes for winning the CL over the League, may aswell drop the league and play in a european super league
The arguement you are making is incorrect. It wouldn't be a single season based choice of 'we prefer Europe over domestic' it would be a case of 'we are the dominant and best team in England and have been for 10 years, but for one season (if needed) we are going to focus attention on getting the CL monkey off our backs, then we'll win the league the next season'

I want both, but if I had to pick one it would be the CL. The club and Pep deserve to win it and by winning the CL it may shut up some our crtics, notably Dippers and Rags. Hopefully we beat the Scousers in April and I have a feeling we could meet again in the CL and put them to the sword once more.

I voted to win the CL because we need the monkey off our backs. We need players to feel they can win the thing that matters to them. We need whatever investment is predicated on the back of winning it…. And I think if we don’t win it , like the league , it’s those scouse bastards who will. I want both and an FA Cup if poss but if I had to choose..CL let’s get the fucker done!
