for me brenda sounds like someone who knows very well that we(hope) already tapped sterling up and will lose him....and if this news of sterling ready to buy his own contract ha they will be lucky to get half of the 50M

I thought this. Managers dont usually comment on this sort of stuff and he named us specifically. He knows whats going on and is making bitter comments. Oh well...

Sterling's pass for the opening goal was top class. Yes, he was poor today but so was the whole Liverpool side.

He has quality, pace and experience at just 20 years old, I for one would love him at city.

Some of the off-field shit worries me with Sterling, it needs to be clamped down on asap if we do end up signing him.

He's known for months that we're the club in for Sterling.

I hope we didn't tap him up though. I hope this is more of the obvious fit situation, just like Milner likely going to Arse. Sterling fits so much of our needs: attacking player, home grown, young, fast and direct- all qualities that City has shortages in, so anyone with some brain can put 2 on 2 together. Coz if we tapped him up it would be sad. As I know how I'd feel if Bayern or Barca tapped up Aguero and he started acting up. :(

All's fair in love and war..... I couldn't care less how his arrival unfolds.

We need a player with his skill set,i'm not mad on his attitude but,at 20,that can be 'developed'.The Brucie will be Brenda's meltdown!

Overrated little shit. I Would cry if City paid much more than 30M.

We need English players though so we may be forced into paying a fee like that.

I would rather pay 30m on Sterling instead of 15m on Cresswell.

Why, do the club start tapping into supporter's bank accounts after £30m?

Rodger's pretty much confirmed we have a deal with sterling after his comments today. Made it extra special seeing them get beat off villa.

Can you elaborate please?

Didn't he once turn us down? When he left from QPR he chose Liverpool instead of us. I doubt Liverpool would even sell to rival.
Exactly what I think, although hearing his cash demands I wouldn't be surprised

any link?

Think he means the comments prior about Liiverpool being a bigger club and City being a good step up, but...etc....

Always remember years ago when the dippers used to say how the likes of SWP and Kinkladze would be great at Liverpool.

Arrogant bastards and Rodgers fits them like a glove. Every dog has his day....

His attitude might not be great but he's 20 years old and he's been basically tasked with carrying Liverpool this season after he was expected to do the same with England in the World Cup. He's having a bit of fun off the field but it's nothing particularly serious. A bit of laughing gas and a shisha pipe... not too concerned by it and I think it's largely because he's done with Liverpool and wants for bigger things.

If he came to us I'd expect him to show a renewed desire to win and take the chance he'd been given. There are better players than him out there but he ticks the boxes in terms of age, potential, experience of the league and nationality so it's one we will most likely go for. Hopefully Aguero gives him a shooting lesson as that will make him a complete player.

Mike Keegan mentioned in a Daily Mail article that Sterling can buy out the final year of his contract for just 1.7 mil, forcing Liverpool to have to sell him in this window.

This cant be right, can it?

That's correct - Sterling is apparently on £35,000 a week.

Unless they put some clause in his last contract which I find hard to believe.

From what I understood a player had to be at least 28 and in the last 2 year's of his contract to buy it out. It may have changed though.
