Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

Go on then

I already have done and pointed out how if it was corruption that wouldn’t make much sense given decisions made against others this season already.

The one thing I don’t think the refs do, although I get why they don’t, is meet fans more. Every fan base has elements of it that thinks refs are corrupt against them. Every club has incredibly poor decisions go for and against them. Ultimately they fuck up and when they do they’re castigated more than anyone in football as they don’t have any base supporting them.

Every pundit and match report I’ve read has criticised that decision. If it really is corruption, it’s inept on so many levels more than if it was incompetence if you properly think about it.

Hooper was the ref in the Spurs v LFC game when the officials fucked up I know it wasn’t his mistake but that’s 2 games he’s ref Spurs and they have gain an advance for 2 worst decisions this season

He should be nowhere near any Spurs games after his career ending performance v dipperpool with the Diaz ghost goal. Maybe he is a Barnet fan.

I know it wasn’t hooper’s

he took great joy in booking Erling for his duck up

He also applied the laws differently depending upon colour of shirt as alluded to frequently in this thread

Or people believe he applied the laws differently depending on the allegiance of the colour of the shirt people are supporting. Objectively, I thought he had a very good game up to that complete cock up on the advantage call.

I have probably thought about and I can’t see an explanation as to why he suddenly blew for a foul he had a clear view In watching football for nearly 60 years I don’t recall such a blantly clear conscious decision to stop a goal as that today I don’t know why he did it but he did it wasn’t a mistake

It’s amazing how offsides are not flagged until ages later after allowing play to go on but this was an advantage was a change of mind & big error.
Football at the highest level is getting worse by the week. Only this week there have been talks about running out trials for sin bin's at high level. What a load of bollocks.
We had Spurs fans today in uproar because the game didn’t get stopped because Hjoberb (whatever he is called) had hurt his ‘foot’

I agree completely with that, just got a feeling he knew the minute he blew the whistle he seriously fucked up. I think he thought the pass was over hit or the chance wasn’t as good as it was and blew too quickly due to the time left in the game.

It was a huge fuck up, I just think he’ll know that better than any of us do and although it makes no difference to any of us, he’ll be feeling as shit about that decision, if not more, as anyone.

But he's the one who determines how much time is added, he can take whatever time he needs and add it on. If anything. that should ensure he is extra cautious in making the correct decision not more rash. It just doesn't add up at all and I'm very eager to hear how it's explained as we're all completely stumped.

He should be feeling even shitter than he is as his job should be on the line. If it's nothing but incompetence then it's so far past incompetent that it's now negligent for pgmol to continue to employ him.

If somebody is that inadequate at their job whatever that may be, they're not keeping it for very long, especially if it's a high profile one where errors make news headlines and potentially cost businesses millions.

You have though, you’ve seen it plenty of times. It was a long way away from being a goal anyway, I think Grealish would have been caught. Youu must have seen actual goals disallowed that shouldn’t have been, there’s been several this season already!

It was an absolute howler still though, I’m not denying that.

He booked Rodri no complaints however he didnt book a spurs player for exactly the same offence He allowed Spurs everytime to take quick FK yet always made sure how’s were on the whistle He was inconsistent He is a ref that normally I like but today there was something Simon in his approach
