Ref Watch

We have taken care of most of the petty name calling, which you are right is not acceptable.

But you have to know much of what you are posting is merely winding other posters up at this point.

even if he is a FA referee badge holder and knows the rules, 100% of the Premier League referees work to orders not the rule book when it comes to united, it's called cheating ? being paid to find that rule, when week in week out the same referee and officials make the same mistakes, but it's OK

it's like a very good lawyer that cost big money, can get you off a murder charge even though you're guilty

Sorry but I disagree

By the laws of the game (which are questionably wrong imho) its a goal.....its the rules that need rewriting....any player in Rashfords position in my mind is interfering with play...but the rules suggest he has to physically try to play the ball, or impede a defender from getting it..which he doesnt do
Sorry but you are wrong.

He physically runs after the ball.

Absolutely agree that they are vague...they need to be changed and simplified......If you are in the attacking half you are interfeering with play....real easy..all players have to be onside in the attacking half at al times....

As Ivesaid they imply physicality with words such as
Moves into the way of an opponent...Now does that mean deliberate obstuction or what rashford does as he wasnt holding the player off player
Impedes progress - does he physically stop anyone from playing (or attempting to play) the ball.....no...
interfering with an opponent by:
  • preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or
  • challenging an opponent for the ball or
  • clearly attempting to play a ball which is close when this action impacts on an opponent
Rashford does none of these. he is not obstructing anyones view, he hasnt challenged anyone and he makes no attempt to play the ball

Most decisions (besides whether the ball crosses the goal line or not) are subjective.
Rashford PREVENTED Akanji from challenging for the ball, and DUMMIED THE BALL and in doing so 100% affected the outcome of the play - AKA INTERFERED with play from an OFFSIDE position (about 3yds offside).
