Referees/Officials

Not singling you out but why can't people see the big picture here? We get ridiculous decisions week in, week out yet the rags get away with murder. There's a pattern; it's not just random refs and decisions. Think about what Scudamore said. Think about who the biggest fan-bases support (and therefore bring in the most revenue to the media companies).

Completely agree with this. The decisions that are benefitting United are borderline ridiculous and must be amounting to 10-15 extra points alone this season. They've scored NINE offside goals this season already.

Combine this with their last four away games: Rojo gets away with a red for two footed tackles on Gueye and Zaha, Mata gets away with a two footed lunge on Sunday and Feghouli gets sent off for being fouled.

As you say, there's a clear pattern of decisions developing here, whilst Raheem Sterling can't seem to win a penalty even if someone decapitated him.

I've always rated Mike Dean very highly, saw him as a pretty fair ref, ran the game with a bit of common sense and was always quite happy to see him in charge, but this season, some of his refereeing has been utterly bizarre, bordering on ridiculous at times, the huge turnaround really does concern me as to whether it's a personal thing with Mike himself, or something of a more sinister nature, whatever it is, there's a marked change.

Early season and he's giving pens like confetti at a wedding for the slightest touch in the area (See Stoke game) and then the notion of holding at corners is downgraded somewhat! Why's that? I thought of Mike Dean the same way - fair, oozing common sense and not putting up with player nonsense. I felt that if we lost with Dean reffing we were second best, but now he's part of the cabal of refs who have, if they are not instructed collectively, their own agenda which too often involves the bizarre at best and lack of even-handedness at worse.

I fear that the game will descend into an even gloomier place with the current crop of referees and that august body of fairness - the FArce. Funny how fairness and farce have the same opening letters! and the dyslexic might even come up with faisco for fiasco!

I just think Dean must be retiring soon anyway so is boosting his pension and having some fun along the way.

I do agree that we get more than our fair share of shocking decisions, but I do think there is a wider problem with refereeing standards. Every game I watch there are some bizarre and shocking decisions. Last night in the derby Leicester game. Player clean through, keeper rushes out of his area and the forward knocks it past him. Keeper blatantly sticks his arm out to stop the ball abs a clear goal scoring chance. Ref just waved play on and books the Leicester player for protesting. They are so incompetent it's rediculous.

I understand that every weekend over £1bn, yes one billion is bet on the Premier League in Asia alone. Draw your own conclusions!!!

The same ref that booked Aguero for diving against Southampton when it was a clear foul against him. Incompetent or bent?

The point I keep making is when does a bit of incompetence become a pattern? When it's happening every week it's a pattern. When we're getting the shitty end of the stick game after game yet the rags are getting away with murder, does that not suggest it's more than a few isolated bizarre decisions?

Is there anyone out there that can remember the last time that we have had a decent ref. at the Etihad. or for that matter when we played away from home. I can't recall one at the moment but probably the 4-1 win against the rags at home and the 6-1 at the theatre of dreamers. Oh yes the ref. that added all that fergie time against QPR to allow us to win the premier league for the 1st time..

Up to the time of the board going up there had been 2 goals scored and 4 substitutions, that alone is worth 3 minutes added on, once you factor in Barton and the fracas that followed 5 minutes was the least it should have been.
Put it this way, if it had been at the rags they'd have put up 10 minutes!!
