Russian invasion of Ukraine

What you have to remember is that Putin hasn't used his most deadly weapons and missiles on Ukraine and Kiev yet. He knows if he did that there would be a huge loss of innocence lives, much more than there has already been. Putin could obliterate Kiev over night without sending his troops in first. If this was a war against NATO you would see much more powerful weapons and missiles in use. Putin wants to try keep Kiev intact or at least limit the destruction of Kiev.

Russia has a lot of Thermobaric weapons that we have not seen yet, I'd be very concerned if he starts using them

These are devastating and could probably level Kiev.

Not a fan of Trump or Johnson, especially the former but when have either done anything remotely like Putin has in the last week?

This is some fucking take.

Trump to an extent had a go at taking over his own country.

You are right though, can't lose sight of the fact he invaded a sovereign country, is threatening others, and hinting at the world that he would use nukes against anyone.

I'm not up for a debate about this (I'm not knowledgeable enough) but I think if this resolves peacefully Britain should re-join the EU and take a leading role in massively building up EU military conventional defenses.

I didnt have a vote but I tended towards Brexit. I've completely changed my mind after this.
Bear in mind that EU turned down the most effective weapon at first. Even now, the exclusion from Swift is partial. US and ourselves wanted full exclusion but compromised to get EU onside.
The announcement of a complete change of policy brought gasps in German parliament and there is some opposition to it. Hold your fire until it all pans out.
