Went to that one on the special. Remember the open end but not the rain.

Definitely Timisoara. Shame as it was a brilliant trip. I reckon there was less than 100 of us there.

agreed, for the Faroes, the club quoted the official tickets sold as 250, but half of those were fans just buying tickets for loyalty points. Romania I would agree, 100 absolute tops.

For the games where we received no official allocation, Millwall away probably tops it, although you could openly buy tickets for the home end etc, I'd be surprised if more than 50-60 of us actually made it (we wore Millwall lapel badges etc to help blend in lol!). Plenty of Blues got in to Utd's main stand when we got no allocation, the reds were surprised to say the least when they saw how many of us were on the concourse at half time lol! ctwd :-)

-- Fri Oct 11, 2013 12:59 am --

City's first game as champions in a pre-season friendly in innsbruck. No more than a dozen City fans.

We went to Innsbruck for the Besiktas game (3rd out of the 3 training games? won 1-0 anyway). Yes, hardly any of us there, thought there was just the 2 of us at 1stage. Remember queuing up for tickets beforehand, talking to a blue from Edinburgh, told us (he was in his 50's) that he had supported us since childhood, & this was the 1st time he'd seen us live home or away. At least he saw a win for his 1st game ...

Jeez. I remember that 0-0 at Torquay. I left work at midday to get the special at 1 O'Clock. It took forever to get there. As I recall, the train pulled into Torbay Station at 7.10 and they herded us on to buses. I think it was a 7.30 ko. We got in just in time to grab a programme and a pie and then the game was underway. After the game there was more pissing about and the train broke down on the way home, not uncommon for a football special in those days.
I got off the train at Stockport at about 4.30 and was home in bed for 5.00.
When I got into work the next day (sorry, later that morning!) everyone said 'Christ you look like shit where were you last night?'

I replied 'Torquay!' Everybody laughed and said 'you must be f*cking crackers!'

I really didn't see the problem at the time, but look back and think they were probably right!

My response was something like 'Well what did you do last night?' (I bet they can't remember to this day what they did that night, but I know what I did that night over 30 years later). At the end life is about what you've seen, what you've done and what you can remember.

The final word was when they said 'What score was it?' I couldn't bring myself to answer!!!!

Furthermore, I've seen one or two comments about the game in Abu Dhabi in 2009. I was at the game and I'm sure we had a great turn out. Am I wrong or can somebody else back me up!

Yep , i'd go for Southend too .....

that was a pretty big away terrace , and the away following was fairly sparce .... just a few hundred of us at best i'd say.

China pre-season 1996 - Tianjin v City - 12 of us travelled - 15'000 odd Chinese (mainly military) and us 12 sat in VIP seats next to the high ranking officers.

City were supposed to play 2 other pre-season games in China but they were cancelled due to floods (rainy season in China is June/July) so we only got to see the one game.

The City players were put up in a grimy concrete Government Hotel as they had been invited by the Government, we on the other hand were in a fantastic palatial hotel - that wasn't that expensive.

Birmingham away 1978, we had about 80 stood in the City end and another 30 in the seats along the side paddock, shitting ourselves each time we scored. We won 4-1. I think the poor following was due to the lack of segregation the previous year when it was kicking off all over the place.

That was my first away game at the tender age of 14,thought the end behind the net was full of city when we got in there, went on a maynes coach, unbeknown to me it was ,Birmingham city,no segregation and when we scored our first we had to take shelter in one of the outside toilets shitting ourselves .rest of game was spent cowering near some old bill, haha
