South Africa

Crowther,

I've just booked, the misses can wait another year for her wedding.

Im with Emirates via Dubai, get into Jo'burg Friday before the 1st game, haven't booked any internal flights or accomodation yet, might just play it by ear.

This is the itinery isn't it?

For good advice re touring SA, some of you might want to try a guest visit to the Barmy Army website, touring section. There are loads of lads with useful tips who've been several times and the info is just as relevant for football fans.
Just an idea.

OS now, first game is in Polokwane!

All fans that have shelled out for CT should contact the club and they will be reinbursed! Cant say fairer than that!

evening everyone, does anyone have a full itinery for s.africa tour ? i fancy going out for a week, i'm out there for xmas and new year watching the cricket but thats with girlfriend, so fancy a lads week !
If anybody flying to tabo international in j'burg i found etihad via abu dhabi, obvious really, was best deal, internal flights in s.africa go to kulula.com they're bit like easyjet with cheap flights,as for digs if were playing in durban, hotels and bars on sea front marine parade if memory serves me right and prety safe, don't bother down town, other good bars, katmandu up windermere end of town.
Unfortunately not been to j'burg, if in port elizabeth look around summerstrand, close to airport and plenty of bars, sports bar in casino at boardwalk and i think close to footy ground also on beach, city centre approx 4 miles away several bars by cricket ground but think safety at night.
cape town, try central area of town i'l be in fountains hotel, st georges mall right next to victoria and albert waterfront where al the bars are, beware of pickpockets in the ferryman and bar next to it,otherwise very safe area.
Enjoy , i love the place thats why want to go back again

well thats me out of it, i was only doing cape town for five days, i never wanted to go to jo burg, so i guess its the usa or something along those lines...gutted

here you go northstander Late change for Vodacom opener 11/06/2009 15:10

The club has today been informed of a late change to the venue for its opening match in next month's Vodacom Challenge in South Africa.

The game against the Orlando Pirates on Saturday 18th July, originally scheduled for the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town, will now be staged at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, Limpopo Province north of Johannesburg.

Western Cape Provincial Government sponsorship was up for renewal and could not be agreed. The promoter then decided on a switch to Limpopo Province, which has a huge supporter-base but has been starved of top-class football in recent years.

The full match schedule is now confirmed as: City v Orlando Pirates at Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane on Saturday 18th July, 3pm; City v Kaizer Chiefs at ASBA Stadium, Durban on Tuesday 21st July, 8pm; City v winners of Pirates v Chiefs at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Pretoria on Saturday 25th July, 3pm.

Supporters who have already confirmed travel arrangements which will be affected by this change in venue are strongly advised to contact MCFC Supporter Services immediately by email to supporterservices@mcfc.co.uk or by calling 0870 062 1894 (option 2 then 1) during office hours.

The club apologises for any inconvenience this may cause, and assures supporters that those who have already made arrangements affected by the change of venue from Cape Town to Polokwane will not be left out of pocket.

Tickets for each of the matches will be available to purchase from the Box Office at the City of Manchester Stadium in the coming weeks. On-sale dates and prices will be confirmed once available.

cheers for that pissedagain, have to look at flights not been to pretoria or polokwane, wherever the hell that is !
