SSN now....

Well done Hughes for buying the players he did! We'd be fucked now if we still had Sven. Bianchi, Petrov, Geovanni, Elano, Bojinov, Benjani, Caicedo, Corluka, Garrido and Fernandes, were his 10 City signings. None would have counted! NONE! Hughes has brought in predominantly British, premier league experienced players, and this puts us in good shape to cope with the new ruling.

Has Weiss been with us for more than 3 years yet? I presume he has, but just want to check.

Under 21, so is exempt from the "quota squad".

But when he turns 21, which camp does he fall into?

I think Hughes 'bought British' because this has been on the horizon. Perhaps it was widely known in football circles- I can't imagine that this decision has been taken overnight.

Yeh.

I wonder if those who criticised his transfer policy of buying English (and Welsh) players will admit that maybe he was being fairly shrewd.

He'll have been here for 3 years without doubt, so he'll be fine.

All of our Academy graduates, regardless of nationality, are qualified, so long as they got to Platt Lane before their 18th birthday. Jeremy Helan, the french lad, will qualify. The Spanish lad unveiled at Bolton last season will qualify. As will McGivern, Robbie Mak, and Javan Vidal.

I'm sure we would have foreseen changes to the rules and acted accordingly.

As it is, only 3 of our summer signings qualify as home grown as far as I can work out.
