Paper and rubbish blowing into my front garden.
My local school has commissioned a blazer made from denim which is cheaper and hard wearing.Blazers and ties as part of school uniform.
Unnecessary. Expensive. Uncomfortable. Not reflective of what people wear in the real world, working or otherwise.
A polo shirt & jumper much cheaper and comfortable. Or does wearing a blazer and tie make you learn better?
The formality of school uniform is strangely archaic and out of touch. As a parent the expectations also cost a fortune and the current standard simply seems to be a case of "but it's always been like that."My local school has commissioned a blazer made from denim which is cheaper and hard wearing.
In contrast, my grandson has just started school and is required to wear a uniform. Madness.
The work place is now less formal as well, I think Covid was a catalyst for that. As long as the work gets done and everybody applies effort, what they wear is mosty irrelevant. The formality of school uniform is strangely archaic and out of touch. I understand the need for some level of uniform for consistent standards within a school, and a free for all with clothing with subsequent have's versus have not's bullying needs to be avoided. But there's got to be a better, cheaper, more comfortable way.
School uniforms back in the day so you can’t differentiate between the well off and the poor……..free school meals were a giveaway though…..Blazers and ties as part of school uniform.

Yet another Americanism. Like the growing usage of New Years over here. The unneeded and nonsensical addition of the letter ‘s’ to the end of the word ‘anyway’.
Up until i read your post I had 43 friends. Those "friends" that give you lives on Candy Crush. Or more often than not, ask you for a life.
Not that they are real, obviously, but the latest one that asked is called "Red" so they can fuck right off.
Hahahaha!Up until i read your post I had 43 friends.
Now it seems I have one.
And he's a dog
Just insecure people.People ,who after giving you their opinion, finish with "No argument" or "End of!" or "Right?"
Bigots?
Isn’t that because they’re too lazy to finish ‘New Year’s Eve’ ?Yet another Americanism. Like the growing usage of New Years over here.
