There’s a local shoe company called Lanx who pride themselves as being Lancastrian and name their shoes after places in Lancashire and Greater Manchester… yet they call their trainers, ‘sneakers’.

Same happens with me on my canal boat.
You can moor anywhere on the tow path side of the canal so I tend to moor up in an isolated spot for privacy and peace and quiet.
Guaranteed some tw*t will then moor up just in front of me,leave their engine running and fill my boat with their exhaust fumes.

Thing is, it's always the same tw*t. Every get the feeling he's stalking you?

I sometimes do weekend work for a company that does road closures for events.
This company normally does the local carnival but this year has gone with a cheaper company. This company is using one vehicle and 5 on foot ( 'we' use 7 vehicles and 15 on foot ).

Just been down to the event to drop my son of and the road is rammed with parked cars and traffic still using the road and parking. This road was meant to be closed at 7am this morning.
This road needs to be empty so the carnival floats can park in parade order and set up.
No sign of any road closures, no signs, no barriers, no high viz people about and its 11am !.

The lady who runs the carnival asked a few of us if we could pop down at 7am and tell this new company how to run the event lol.
Of course we said 'do one' but in all seriousness how can a company that uses 7 vehicles and 15 on foot tell a company that uses 1 vehicle and 5 on foot. We couldn't run the event on their numbers so would have nothing to tell them !

Hopefully the carnival goes OK without innocent, but personally with people using cars to drive into pedestrians the saving of a couple of hundred quid shouldn't come before the public safety.
