Stupid little things that bug you

Like when people in front of me at the checkout have to wait until they’re told the price of the goods before even considering to reach for their purse. And then when said purse is dug out of the fucking handbag, they then start the rooting round process to get to the notes. Come on man, have it ready why don’t you or better still tap a card ffs.
Then there are club cards and vouchers to deal with.....

I now drive buses for my sins. No one ever has pass/money/card ready until they get to the cab. Even if there are 50 in the queue they all have to wait until they approach you.

People that say we FOC ‘had it easy’. Easy mortgage, easy jobs etc. I was born in 1949 in Hulme. No inside bog or bathroom, no central heating, no local playground. When it was pulled down in 58 we moved upmarket to Moss Side, indoor bog and bathroom here but still no central heating. Left school without a single qualification (earned all mine - including my degree whilst working as well). Got a job but no cars in those days, bike or bus. Joined up, 23 years in the army as a mechanic working all the hours god sent (lost count of the days we worked all night), got a good pension at the end but f..king hell we worked for it. Became a teacher another real ‘easy’ job if you’ve never done it. Yeh, a real easy life living through mortgage rates into double figures, travelling back and forth every weekend, working until 9 o’clock at night to get lessons planned and work marked. I think I have earned my retirement, thank you very much. Now they talk about taking more of my pension pot because I have too much.

Rant over.

Totally agree. I very rarely drink 'pop' or eat sweets. The reason is simple, as a kid I never had them so now i dont think about them. We never went to restaurants as we couldn't afford them.
I'm not doing the Monty Python 4 Yorkshire men, I'm just saying we had nowt, didn't moan or blame someone we just accepted it. We learnt to graft and save and yet now we are the bad guys

It's incredible how much money you can save by just not being a greedy ,grabby , needy arsehole.

Councils who would rather allow a building to rot than allow someone to do them up and use them, the verbiage from these bunch of clowns proves what absolute arseholes they are.

Public servant doesn't even register with them.

There's going to be 'some plans' for the land isn't there?

2 people saved for a mortgage because they genuinely planned on staying together, now less people live together and even fewer get mortgages together, society is much more fluid.

Most young 'uns know how shit our housing was and how brutal life could be, it's only the odd weird fuckers who don't recognise how much easier they've got it that they have to fall back on microaggressions and coffee shops who don't stock enough soya milk for their latte au faits.

People who think their cars are more waterproof if they drive through a big puddle at 3 m.p.h
