You have me confused with others. I have completely backed Mancini's stance over Tevez and his continued hard line with ALL players.

He is wrong in my eyes because he has undermined himself and City with a softening of his stance.

It's a sign of weakness (certainly in relation to who were dealing with) and one which the Tevez camp were quick to act upon.

Apologies for mis interpreting your stance.

However, my point remains that I dont see this as a negative in any respect. It is totally separate from the disciplinary proceedings. It was just Bobby trying to sort out training etc. I don't see it as weakness, nor as retreating from his position. IMO it looks like he's being the good guy & Tevez is the stroppy one.

Kia may try to spin it another way but, as you have eluded to previously, he is running out of friends & credibility.

We'll have to disagree, mate. Mancini needs to be consistent in his ruthless approach here.

We are dealing with devils, scum of the earth when it comes to football politics - let's not forget what this lot have done for Garry Cook in recent weeks.

People are well within their rights to not see any negatives in such a meet, but we are on here discussing it, the papers have splashed their back pages with it and Sky and rolling updates.

We don't need this. We have three huge games in a week and I would love to know who at City didn't think a midnight meet at the home of our manager would not have been leaked by the Joorabachian spin machine?

Tevez could have had the same conversation within the confines of the manager's office yesterday. All the players had gone home.

The fact it was conducted at Mancini's house is the issue for me. It shows a 'personal' olive branch to someone who should have it shoved up his arse.

Whilst I agree that I would have personally shoved it up his arse, I feel that this offer, coming from Mancini, paints him in an altogether better light & goes against all the negative streotypes currently employed against him.

For someone who is supposed to be distant from the players with questionable man management skills, this is quite a statement. It also is totally separate from the disciplinary proceedings.

I agree, a properly club sanctioned meeting would have had the same outcome - Tevez refusing - but it would have been leaked & built up by camps with vested interests.

Do you feel Mancini's own media manipulation skills are being somewhat underestimated?

To reiterate my stance over the last few days:

What a fucking mess. Typical City shambles.

Just when we need it the least.

yes its a great pity. its also a pity we had to buy this cancer to help us get where we are now. having got to this stage, i hope he gets his wish, which is not to play for city but under favourable terms for us.

Worst case it will go to court and we have to be seen to have done everything we can to mitigate any financial loss?

That's a valid point. The judge wants to see that each party have done everything possible to resolve the issue before court.

And Mancini can lie his arse off about what he really said in his house.

Maybe Mancini is being smarter than you give him credit for.

Maybe Mancini knew it would be leaked by the Joorabachian spin machine and it strengthens his position with the squad.
The players now know he has tried to resolve the situation and Tevez has said get it right up you.

Imo the players will feel for Mancini and want to play for him more after doing this.
It did kook like there was going to be disharmony in the camp and any doubters could now be thinking well at least Mancini tried and what a right twat that Joorabachian is to stoop so low to leak the story. Maybe...

That's the bit I can't understand. I actually respect Mancini for attempting some sort of staged reconciliation (if that's what it was) for the good of the club, but I can't understand why he did it this way.

Behind closed doors, all alone, with the club interpretor there even. Then it can't ever be used or admitted in the case of a legal battle.

If City were fully in the loop over this meet, then someone seriously wants their arse kicking for picking such a location and not pre-empting fall-out and perception.

And if Mancini has gone rogue over it, where no briefings prior to Sky, suggested we had legal present, then he needs his arse kicking.

I see no reason why Tevez couldn't have been made aware of the situation when he arrived in London.

I do recall that our investigators first arrived to interview Tevez at his house?

Perhaps the chosen informal settings are all part of the disciplinary procedures in place these days?
