The End of on Street Parking within walking distance of the Etihad

Past Edge lane is all housing up to the centre of Droylsden and beyond. If people start parking there, I can see local residents calling for similar permit parking there too.

I agree, parking on the other side of Edge Lane will probably cause a number of issues for the local residents, however introducing new parking schemes are a slow process and are also extremely costly to implement, so its far to assume nothing will change over in Tameside for the next 3 - 5 years.

Tameside is such an ugly entity. Can you just use the word Droylsden in future?!!

I definitely suffer from stress on busy metrolink but find the London Underground mostly okay. Weird.

I seem worse on these ‘new’ trams compared with the old ones too. If I’m stood near the door or in that middle bit with the rotating floor I can manage, but otherwise it’s hell.
The London Underground transports at least a couple of million people each day and is well designed to do so. Even changing at Bank in rush hour, I was almost always able to get the first Central line coming in.

Arsenal was often fine after The Emirates as was Fulham Broadway for Chelsea. London is used to huge numbers whilst the area around City is not.

Being near where MPs work might have something to do with it.

The extortionate fares would’ve clawed some of that back!

I’d have preferred the tube 24/7 at those prices but you could generally get anywhere at any time.

Merseyrail is far, far worse.
Metrolink is pretty much the same price.

Finsbury Park to Seven Sisters £4
Piccadilly to Etihad £3.50

Shocking.

Nobody is affected or arsed about London tube service of Mersey rail though.

I always found just property extortionate in London. Everything else was a little more expensive but London weighting made it affordable.

I was in Manor Park in December and pints were maybe £4.20. I pay £3.70 here.

I am when I want that last pint in McCartney’s Bar when the final trains are going…

Comparisons are fair. If London or Liverpool can do this then why can’t Manchester.
Comparisons maybe fair to you but this thread is about parking restrictions and getting to and from the stadium.

But you could digress further and tell us about your favourite German currywurst or the price of your latest Welsh rugby shirt. ; )

As people now need to park further away, will that make getting out of the official car parks quicker? It’ll take slightly longer for traffic to build up and will be slightly further from the stadium.

There's a point where the straw breaks every camel's back...
Indeed there is. And we'll lose a lot of regulars at the end of the season due to parking restrictions and increased ticket prices. But as long as the seats are taken by half and half scarf wearing tourists the club don't care, sadly.

The police shut Ashton New Road and Alan Touring Way until the crowds have disbursed so I can't see it making much difference.
