The End of on Street Parking within walking distance of the Etihad

As people now need to park further away, will that make getting out of the official car parks quicker? It’ll take slightly longer for traffic to build up and will be slightly further from the stadium.

Its fair to assume that one of the knock on effects of these new parking restrictions around the Etihad will be an increase in demand for parking on site at the official carparks at the stadium> Theses official carparks at the Etihad have never been full to capacity in the past for match going fans and one of the main reason for this is the time it takes get exit the carparks. I've heard, it can takes over an hour to get away and god only knows what it will be like to get away if the carparks were full to capacity.

Usually park on ten acres lane exactly 1 mile from stadium.
Noticed last game it's all now double yellow lines.
Can't believe I'm saying this as a season ticket holder for more than 30 years but not going to bother tomorrow night especially with 7.30 ko.
I'm not prepared to do a 120 mile round trip and not being able to park easily.
I also bring my two lads also season ticket holders & yet again can't believe I'm saying it but thinking of not renewing tickets next season

Completely agree, I'm going tonight with a first ever attempt at the stadium parking. It's make or break for me as it introduces such an unnecessary headache and stress for every home game. Hopefully the club acknowledge it soon and offer some sort of solution. Alternative option for me is local supporters club but coaches are often full to the brim already!

I’ve never had to use them, fortunately, but they’ve been badly designed.

I’m surprised that they haven’t been allowed to build multi storey car parks there. No doubt to push people onto public transport, but it’s so shit that it couldn’t cope.

Maybe we have to go through thr process of it not coping before multi storeys can get approval.

It's going to be a perfect storm tonight. Rail strike means no trains that force more people on to the roads with nowhere to park. I'm off work this afternoon so may have to go down soon and try and find a place that's not restricted. Otherwise it's time to be a sardine in a tram :(

Indeed there is. And we'll lose a lot of regulars at the end of the season due to parking restrictions and increased ticket prices. But as long as the seats are taken by half and half scarf wearing tourists the club don't care, sadly.
Problem is there won't be bums on seats, certainly at mid week games, if you can't park near or get on an overcrowded tram. As regulars and day trippers have the same transport parking problems.

It'll get a lot worse, especially when we extend the north stand and the arena have a gig on a match night. And i very much doubt the traffic infrastructure will get any better.

Just parked up near Oldham Road/Grimshaw Lane and bus back into town. This area outside the zone but not too far from the ground. Get food in town and chill. This is ok for the minority who have the time.
