The Labour Government

Storm Shadow is air launched. It is released from a Ukrainian aircraft being flown by a Ukrainian pilot. Why would it be doubtful they could do it themselves? They will have been given the ground equipment and training to do it. They’re not stupid.
The fact that Russia treats it as UK military action is just posturing by Putin.
It actually requires access to a US navigational data system to be successful, hence the reason why the use of the missile couldn’t previously be sanctioned by the UK alone, and depended instead on Biden.

The UK sanctioning its use is basically etiquette, given that the UK provided them, rather than any technical requirement.

Worth a read. Makes some interesting points once you get in to the body of it.

Do you think that Starmer can survive the consequences on his approval ratings of getting further involved in Ukraine? Seems to play into Farage's hands.

They’ve modified their Su-24’s with old pylons from tornado’s. However they have to pre-programme targets prior to take off. The missile itself requires GPS to find its target (hence needs satellites of the west - US or US tech most likely). Upon arrival it uses visual recognition to strike the target. I would imagine visual recognition being provided by western intelligence.

We’re not doing anything more than when we helped them use the weapons in Ukraine and our involvement then didn’t raise much concern. Putin’s just pissed he can’t keep punching out with no hits back. Fuck him.

Tories get their shit together and labour will be a one term wonder.

There's no chance of a leadership coup as Keith Stalin has the party stitched up his army of cunts ready to expel anyone who say anything against him.
Farage will end up as Tory leader and it will turn into a cult like MAGA.
Just my opinion but I think that’s how it will play out.

it makes no diference until late 2027, if by then and after people feel their standards of living or services have improved or are improvin and the country is in a positive frame of mind then stiring up fear and hate won't get a look in.

The resposibility now need to be on our Media to stop going for clicks and do some real journalism, bullshit non stories like the farmers protests getting top billing over important news would be a start.

Exactly.

Unfortunately the media will continue to be largely controlled by billionaire Tory donors and they’ll carry on going for clicks rather than serious journalism, and there’s enough gullible people taken in by this shit to vote against their best interests.

If the government try and regulate the media it will be portrayed by the vested interests as an attack on free speech.

Although I personally think Starmer will be reasonably competent and deliver positive change, I don’t think it will be recognised as such by enough people to get him re-elected and he probably needs to hand over the reins to someone more charismatic in the final year of this term to give Labour a better chance of continuing in government.

Real journalism died with the advent of social media, or at least, real journalism getting the recognition it needed died with the advent of social media.

Farage polling is a bit of a smoke screen IMHO - he’s more unpopular than popular. Whereas the tories and Lib Dem’s are less unpopular but not as popular. If you consider why Starmer won the last GE - he wasn’t popular but he wasn’t ans unpopular as the “other guy” - Labour didn’t really have any policies that people really got behind. In that sense things like the donations row was a PR disaster even if they didn’t create lasting damage.

Starmer is politically naive and we’ve seen that since he got to power. My feeling is the WFA will hang heavy over labours time in office and unless people things have markedly improve I see Reeves being the “fall guy” about a year or so before the next GE. Either that or Starmer will face a vote of no confidence from his back benches as the MPs start to worry about their own jobs.

In the meantime his MPs and the electorate are prepared to give him time to turn things around.

Surely Starmer is gonna head the same way as Netanyahu at the ICC by selling rockets to the Ukraine. God knows where those rockets have landed. It might be classed as indiscriminate targeting of civilians. Anyway, Germany and Hungary have told the ICC to fuck off an' do one, infact, Victor Hungary wants Netanyahu to make a stare visit, whilst King Donald is goin' after the British KC who voted for it!

One table suggests that under Labour after 4 months fewer people feel worse off than at any time in the last two years.

From recent doorknocking the only person really angry about pensions was a guy complaining about having to wait longer to get his pension. And blaming Labour for changes the Tories have made to pension age.

Well having had 14 years of failings and lying bastards like Boris, to quote just 1, the tories have clearly demonstrated their expertise at failure and conning the voters.

The hypocrisy on here is a wonder to behold.

They had just shy of 15 years to get their shit together. They've proven they can't even find their shit, nevermind get it together.

And Keith Stalin? Did you steal that sobriquet from a teenager on twitter?

they’ve done so much already and made a positive start , changed workers rights bill, increasing min wage, stopped strikes in NHS and transport, quickly ended the Farage riots, hitting wealthy corporations for more tax - they’re doing a lot of good , yet as always it’s made out they’re the worst government in history and only the negative is massively highlighted. No Goverment can please.
