The spending is not over!

Most likely a cb and 2 younger players. Can't be another winger/midfielder unless we are selling at least 2!!

Looks like kolarov and Sinclair on the way out if reports are to be believed

Maybe a cb and either lescott or nasty can cover lb? I think pellegrini will not rotate as much as he seems to like a certain settled way off playing?

Nastasić won't be covering anything!

Nasty can play at Lb but if rather we just signed another and kept nasty in the centre

Definitely good enough.

Not worth £30m however.

Not even close to good enough whether as a CB or DM. A mistake waiting to happen.
He's a liability yes, but also top class.

So he's a top class liability ;.) I know what you mean but this should be a guy at the peak of his career, not a rich mans Dunny (and I loved him btw )..we'll have to agree to differ on this one. Not for me.

Manchester City

Manchester City were always going to loosen their belts after last season’s trophyless campaign led to the departure of manager Roberto Mancini. But the Italian’s successor Manuel Pellegrini has been hung out to dry by a reckless spending spree. Having already disposed with €111m, only Monaco have spent more this window. Yet City’s current squad is arguably weaker now than it was when it flopped so horribly in Europe last term.

The signings of Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic at a combined cost of over €50m smacked of desperation following the failure to capture primary targets. These are forwards far inferior to their predecessors Mario Balotelli and Carlos Tevez who departed for just €28m. Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho, at €40m, was also horribly overpriced and only Sevilla winger Jesus Navas at €20m can be regarded as good business. All of City’s arrivals will perform adequately, but a club with the ambitions of challenging for the Champions League must set the bar much higher. Pellegrini's men are currently light-years behind Bayern and Real Madrid.

Negredo scored more than tevez and balotelli last year wtf is he on

Written by Carlo Garganese, the guy's an absolute twat. Probably still bitter about us beating his 'beloved' Juve to Jovetic

This is probably a daft idea but couldn't we take out two birds with one stone and play Kolarov as a left winger as he's near useless defensively yet good going forward and then buy a left back back-up for Clichy?
