Bit off topic I know, but Spurs fans are all going to the FA youth cup game vs Charlton at the valley, it's on the 16th february and it was organised after hearing the fighting cock podcast. They feel the u18's need to experience what it would be like to play for the first team. It's called project TottenhamUltras. Apparently a few 1000 are already going as it's £5 at the ground. If any yids are interested it's 7:00pm kick off. You can meet at a bar near the valley but can't remember what it's called :S the only rule is to sing your heart out and give the lads a night to remember. Sounds like a decent idea!

Edit/: Their will be a video made by one of the Fighting Cock producers on the website, just for those who would like to see it.

why post this here?
you think any of us give a fuck?[/

Oh sorry for posting SPURS related material on the SPURS thread..idiot. If you actually read the post I said it to inform my fellow Yids on here about it...I don't go on the spurs forums as they all talk sh*t on them. The spurs fans seem decent on here so that's why.

We're not far off breaking even ourselves, which people like to deny. Our turnover is consistently higher than Arsenal's, just behind Bayern's and we've yet to move into our new stadium and exploit a naming rights deal. When that happens we'll be in a pretty healthy position.

pmsl

Chelsea announces losses of £67.7M! Which is higher than two and three years previous.

You were meant to be breaking even two years ago!

Good luck with FFP.

I heard a rumour that your waiting list fell by several thousand last year. Why do you think that was?

I hadn't heard that rumour. Maybe it's true. All I can say is that I have friends who are something like numbers 31000 on the waiting list.

Have a look on Twitter and a lot of Yid's put their waiting list number in their profile. Most of them appear to be around the 30000 mark.

I'd say that's enough people to confidently suggest that we'll easily be able to match Newcastle numbers in our new stadium. Not to mention at double and treble the prices for good measure.

This is OTT, don't get me wrong I quite like the spuds in here and most seem reasonable but, and it's as big a but as Thugglestones ...

It's one thing discussing Spuds on here but josh's post is on the way to creating a Spud's subforum for Spud-u-like's who are disenchanted with their own forums. The Spurs thread here has to be predominately about how they matter to us not the internal niceties that have no relevance to MCFC. What next, discussions on their U-15's management set up, Bale's visit to sign teddybears at the local kiddies hospital?

Stick around Spuddies but keep it relevant to us, eh?

Lol...look at this ...petition to stop spurs getting

tax payers money to fund their new stadium.

its on facebook now

basically saying that while their manager is up in court for alleged tax fraud, the club are about to get £27m of tax payers money to fund their new stadium while at the same time a local hospital is about to be closed...

I know we got our stadium from the council but our club is now repaying that ten fold with all teh extra infra structure and jobs they are bringing into the local area

I signed it!

This is one inherent advantage that you have over any club in the country outside North and West London.

Indeed, but the benefits are offset somewhat by the 'London prices' we have to pay for land and construction.

Building a 500 mill stadium in North London would probably cost no more than 300-350 in the North East.

-- Tue Jan 31, 2012 6:41 pm --

If this thread was on the main forum I could understand the necessity to keep it City centric but this is General Football and it appears that a City context is optional in most of the threads.

The difference in cost wouldn't be that pronounced. I reckon 20% tops which is 100 mill on the build cost.

Those extra 20,000 seats at, say, 60 quid a go would add up to 30 mill a season in incremental ticket sales based on 25 games per season.

I reckon your overall matchday revenue could go up by 40 mill which provides a decent return on 500 mill as it happens and that is before all the attendant benefits that go hand in hand with being a bigger club than you presently are.

Nice distinction. I take it you convinced yourself beyond all doubt that the new stadium and its surrounding infrastructure wouldn't bring similar benefits for one of the most deprived areas in London before you signed the petition?

I'm not arguing that it has to be City-centric but that the minutiae of the Spuds netherworld is of no interest even in a general football forum. If you want to keep in touch with your fellow spuddies join Facefuck or swap email addies, we have issues with bandwith as it is.

Are you seriously suggesting that this is the appropriate recruiting ground for a Spuds youth team initiative?

In the short term yes. Saha will be a better fit for our system than Pav ever was and Nelsen will probably be fith choice centre back so may not even play.

Obviously Levy has made money out of the bargain and he's going to need it because we will have to invest quite heavily in the summer on at least two quality strikers whether we qualify for the Champs League or not.

Not one penny of that £27 million will be spent on Tottenham's new stadium.

The money will go towards transport and infrastructure improvements to the local area which were the responsibility of the relevant authorities and which Tottenham were expected to foot the bill for.
