The worst thing about farcical officiating

All I'm hearing was var couldn't get involved because it was a subjective decision and not a straight forward offside
What people don't realise is the first decision was offside not a goal. So when they say the on field decision should stay then its offside.
For me the ref changed the decision knowing var couldn't get involved

Too many grey areas in the rules, which the officials themselves don't understand or fully agree on. The linesman flagged it and was the closest official to it. The ref is near the halfway line, 30 yards away!! Can't understand why VAR didn't ask the ref to have a look on the monitor and make his mind up. For such a big moment in a big game, why the rushed decision? Doesn't change the fact we played bang average but its annoying when you know it wouldn't have stood if we scored it.

Its hard for me to believe its corrupt , i dont want to believe it more so. But where there is money there is corruption.

I often think back to when Leicester won the league. That was incredible for the prem brand. Plucky underdogs etc

And where as ive no problem with leic winning it, huth and morgan , their 2 centre halves , fouled and pushed their way through that season with total impunity. At corners and free kicks they had free reign to do what they wanted
Maybe my paranoia who knows. But i often wonder were refs told to turn a blind eye
I remember Leicester struggling at Home to West Ham and 2-1 down into injury time and Moss rescued them with a ridiculous Penalty decision -it ended 2-2 IIRC

Let's use the incident to our advantage, have someone consistently running upfront in an offside position, say foden/bernardo.... Have haaland in the Freddie Mercury role running through onto a Debruyne through ball knowing foden/bernardo isn't going to touch the ball and slotting it in the net. Mind you it won't last long coz when City score a goal like that they'll change the rule immediately.

so encouraging the 'law is an ass' response...when the bloody law says its offside!
Exactly. Was screaming at a few in the tv/laptop hearing some peoples take. Took a while for some sense to be heard (Hackett/Danny Murphy)

I agree with everybody, the first goal was offside no doubt, however no one is talking about the second goal, was that offside, watch the highlights in slow motion, Rashford wanders offside twice before the ball is crossed, just check on the official city website, slow it down its questionable ???, I don't think it has been questioned.

He was behind the ball….

The tide is turning on the decision bar the Rags, United pundits, VAR, PGMOL and the PL.

I think this is a really good point. Would be interesting if we tried this next game to see what actually happens. It would make a mockery of the decision. If they start allowing goals like that, then surely other teams will try to take advantage of the loophole and will attempt to score a similar goal. The referring board or Howard Webb need to clarify the rule and just admit that the ref made a massive error. I think we should demand an apology as it could prove costly end of season.
This is where there is a huge issue for them, there is no way they can admit the ref made a massive error as it would then surely be classed as clear and obvious and VAR would have been called into play. The fact they didn't review it screws them over, all they will do is add additional guidance.

we need to score the same goal Haaland running 20 yards offside and ignore defenders stopping to play even the whistle and create a scene if someone like Foden coming from onside to actually score it.
if they dont award nt send in Carson to KO the 4th ref for a start.
Yeah but the ref will prob just do this, see TAA offside in this clip which in theory is the same as Rashfords!!! https://www.skysports.com/watch/vid...-taa-offside-decisions-was-there-a-difference

Watch the short highlights, at 1 minute 45 seconds, on the second goal Rashford is offside, 1 second later he scores, for me he was in an offside position
Yes, behind the ball clearly not off
It would be interesting what others think, my opinion is he was offside at 1 minute 45 seconds, stop the play on the short highlights ???
