The FA approached Pep, who according to the majority of the British sports media is one of the most corrupt managers in the game, and yet somehow they'd all be happy if he was appointed England Manger?

Schrodinger's corrupt manager conundrum.

I'm pretty sure it's just because they don't want him to be City's manager.

Yep. They were all wetting their knickers with excitement about getting a foreign manager yesterday, just not the one they've ended up with.

Did you expect Southgate to do as well as he did? International football isn't club football. Just go back and list the world cup winning managers. Were they all successful club managers? The England team should be managed by an Englishman. We're not minnows.

We had "success" in spite of Southgate, not because of him. We also lost every time we faced a good side. You could argue that a better manager, a manager with a CV that is good enough for the job, would have had more tactical nous to get us over the line. I am English, can I have the job then?
 
Honestly not sure what to expect as his last few jobs have ended a bit weird, but overall I like the type of football mind he has so I'm open to see what he can do.

Think it's also good for us as the FA clearly approached Pep first and the fact he said no makes me believe that a contract extension is on the way.
