It doesn't meet their agenda to get into the detail on this. It's much easier to believe the bent media becsuse that fits the narrative nicely.

We may have eastern sponsorship, but the argument that we would collapse if the current ownership went, is working on a wild assumption that the sponsors would follow them out.

The premier league is big business. Who is to say that those said sponsors wouldn't want a piece of the pie and stay on board?

We ARE self sufficient, for any lurking rag. We posted profit last year and the forecast is to deliver once more. FFP tried and failed. We have passed every detail.

So do us all a favour and fuck off.

I think it's only fair to any "lurking rag" that the post quoted was made by a Chelsea fan of all people. In fact, it was the Chelsea fan, and Arsenal fan, and a Spurs fan that gave me the most amusement on that thread. Sure, there were the usual hackneyed cliches from a smattering of United fans as well but some also spoke a fair bit of sense as well as another Chelsea fan.

I see Lucacky has publicly reduced Drogba to the status of a mere "target man". North Korea has nothing on the indoctrination that goes on when a new signing rocks up at the swamp.

Those ragcafe rants are hilarious. All the old cliches are in there but they of course compund that with their usual misinformation (aka lies). ADUG were never in for either Liverpool of Leeds. (Hilariously the clown who posted this came out with gem that these clubs fill their stadiums. Even with the newly expanded Anfield, City not only get higher attendances than Liverpool but we also fill a higher proportion of seats).

The fact is that besides City ADUG looked at Arsenal, Newcastle and Everton. Arsenal were rejected because they were considered to have grown and matured as far as they ever will in the foreseeable future. Newcastle were rejected because they were a basket case. Everton were rejected because they refused to hand their books over to ADUG for due diligence. I also heard that Kenwright refused to take a call from Sheikh Mansour and neglected to return it.

Ah, yes. But that's the real world. In la-la land where most of those grotesque extras from 'The Hills Have Eyes' films (rag fans) live under the jurisdiction of the Trafford Ministry of Truth. What happened in their alternate universe is that the Sheik offered to buy them but, because they are the most scrupulous, fair-minded and honest, upright club that has ever graced these shores they said no, because it goes against their principals and everything they stand for. Such is their standing that night after night Kun can be seen outside the swamp, a lone, solitary figure outlined against a doleful-looking moon, crying uncontrollably and tearfully mumbling something about how he wishes he could get away from that wicked and scheming Mr Guardiola, and be guided towards the footballing equivalent of Shangrila and the Messiah himself, Mr Eye-gouging-****-amongst-****s, Mourinho.

So anyway, that is why they insisted he buys us so that we might also enjoy the odd trophy. In that respect they are very much like King Henry 8th: feasting at the banquet and now and again throwing a chicken bone over his shoulders so that the peasants can scavenge for a morsel of food. That is how the rags are, so generous to us because we are the runt of the litter, insisting that the Sheik gives us a helping hand and therefor consolidating their status as the greatest and bestest club that has ever ever existed in the whole wide world.

Their only 15 good signings away from challenging this season, challenging to finish fourth at best.

Maureen is going to stink the league out this season with his route one, park the bus philosophy to try and get them into the top four

Maureen holding forth to the media about clubs distorting player prices now!

But not the one that has paid £100 million twice in the last 12 months for two players!

They really are so unaware it's frightening
I said to Rag mates if you're paying 30 million for a 19 year old left back with no international caps and no CL experience 2 years ago how much do you think we are going to have to pay for proven ones ?
Explained that by paying that they gave every other club a bench mark and they started all this

Like knocking on wood though

I'm sure peg explained to the BBC that United don't have to overspend on players because they just rely on the magic of Man United that is as powerful in Turin as it is in Liverpool.
