Just goes to show how much of a farce it is.
They'll use it when someone's a millimetre offside but not when a keeper's a metre off their line.
I'm glad they didn't use it tonight though. It's a cancer on the game.

You have not read the full sentence. It says that keepers must have one foot on the goal line except when facing City, then they can stand on the 6 yard line.The rules state the keeper has to have a foot on the goal line.

VAR doesn’t check for the keeper’s position on penalties. Give it up.
There are moments when you should stop. This is one of them for you.

I had a debate recently about whether the PL have to follow IFABs laws to the letter and whether they themselves have any authority to enforce this(I'd rather they did). This seems to answer that question, they probably tried to get FIFA to do it for them but to no avail:

No-the other 2 were for encroachment into the 18yd box and subsequent playing the ball by the player who encroached-not a keeper issue.He’s clearly off his line and the ref can see that. It’s clear and obvious.
Many have been called back for this including 2 of our own.
I'm not sure VAR was in operation last night.No review on any of those tackles
No delays, no VAR check or VAR cleared announcements. I would have thought there werea few that warranted a closer look.

Penalty & the Goal were checked, don't recall seeing it for anything else.

I think VAR is switched off when we are playing - bit like the game at the dippers .

At the end of the day, does it really fucking matter? My argument is not whether VAR can intervene, my argument is that the cûnt was off his line and the liner did jack shit about it.

I agree he's off his line and it should have been spotted. Unfortunately it does matter because as we know the rules seem to be harshly applied when it comes to us and this was an opportunity for the officials to stuff us knowing VAR couldn't intervene. It would seem to me that this is one area where VAR's use would be a no brainer.
