What if?

If they lose tomorrow and we win there is a chance,8 points reduced to 5 with us still to play them it would put us right back in it,but with them playing the way they are generally and us playing the way we are i can't see it happening, but who knows,as Jimmy Greaves used to say,its a funny old game.

If we win all our remaining games, Utd still have to lose once more and draw another (and not spank the teams they beat)

Not gonna happen unfortunately.

Best we can hope for is for them to win the league after they play us.

At the end of the day we have never been in this position with this big of chance, okay it looks unlikley we will win it as we stand but what's the point in accepting defeat now? let's keep believing, if we don't win it then so be it, it's a great situation to be in, guaranteed Champions League football next season the closest team to us are 10 points away and let's face it we are only getting better! Come on Cityy!!!

Spot on. I don't want them winning it at our place; that'd be taking the piss.

Let's say hypothetically that we won and united lost tonight.
That puts us back within 5 points.
We play norwich saturday and beat them also, that's 2 points. United then draw and the gap is all of a sudden only 3 points.
The week before the derby we beat wolves away and they only manage a draw at home to everton who aim to finish the season on a high, whilst still looking to take some frustration out on someone after being humiliated by liverpool at wembley. An angry scouser would surely be cheered up getting one over on a manchester team and potentially spoiling their season.
Within the space of a few weeks the gap is narrowed to only one point, creating the most important and most electrifying manchester derby in years.
What a cracking end to the finish line that would be.
All of a sudden the race is well and truly back on.

It's not impossible. Stranger things have happened.

United only need to lose Rooney through injury or suspension and the tide would turn,he is to them what Tevez used to be to us.

Unfortunately for Rooney to be suspended he would have to be booked/sent off and we all know that is against law 45382176592462.2 of the FA rules.
