He's been sold he won't be coming back

Thought he had been loaned with an obligation to buy in the summer! That's not the same is it?

Of course it's the same.
If you take a car off the lot, at 9am, even though the paperwork won't be finalised until noon, you've just been loaned it with an obligation to buy. To the seller, how greatly does this differ from if you'd paid cash up front?

Why say loaned then when not say sold on 12 months free credit!!!

Don't really understand how we can account for the £24m this year as I bet Valencia are accounting for it as an outgoing in their accounts in the summer!!

That's called bending the rules to the extreme and cant see how it would be allowed! Negredo has either been loaned or sold!!

Considering, until a few days ago, we all thought Lampard had been loaned and that's how all the media and both clubs referred to the deal, we really don't know whether the Negredo deal is officially a loan or just a sale with late payment terms. What we do know is that Negredo was desperate to sign for them in the summer, City needed to offload him, as he had a long-term injury and there was no room in the Champions League squad for him and Valencia were in the middle of a takeover which mean that they had no cash in the summer but would have plenty in January. The deal suited all sides and was always intended to be a permanent transfer. Had Valencia's takeover happened sooner, they would have forked out the cash in the summer but, this way, everyone is happy.

The UEFA transfer budget restriction is not the same as the regular accounts. It is a specific limit on the total value of transfers over a 12-month period, regardless of their payment terms. Otherwise City could have just deferred a chunk of the payments for all the players signed last summer and reduced the spending that way. That didn't happen because it's not how the sanction works. The value of Negredo's transfer was agreed in the summer, so will be counted by UEFA in the current year, regardless of when Valencia pay us. If City have a clear contract, signed by Valencia, guaranteeing to pay 25 million for Negredo in the summer then what matters is the date that contract was signed, not the date the payment will be made.

BBC are reporting that a fee in the region of 30 Million has been agreed.

Swansea City have agreed a fee in the region of £30m to sell striker Wilfried Bony to Premier League champions Manchester City.

Swansea manager Garry Monk previously said it would take an "astronomical" fee to prise the Ivory Coast striker, 26, away from the Liberty Stadium.

He was the Premier League's top scorer in the calendar year of 2014 with 20 goals.

Bony joined Swansea for a club-record £12m from Vitesse Arnhem in 2013.

The fee breaks the Welsh club record sale of £15m that Liverpool paid Swansea for midfielder Joe Allen in August 2012.

Because they are essentially the same thing. When you give somebody credit, you are really just lending them money - often without charging interest.

Considering that Lukau cost close on £30m and given the cost of other strikers, £30m is cheap. What matters to a cash rich club is not the cost, but whether he improves us, and I think he will.

Bony and Aguero is a terrific front two on paper.

We've got to see the real thing, but on paper is there a better front two in football?

A lot of City fans say that it has been a few seasons since City went out and bought a top player. We're just about to do it
