Lukaku, a proven premier league goal scorer, cost Everton £30m. I really can't see why there's so much concern from City fans, and media scoffing, over City paying £25m (rising to £28m if we/he succeeds) for Bony, a proven premier league goal scorer. When Everton did it they were showing ambition and it was applauded, yet now it's City's turn the usual suspects come crawling out and start making snide comments. Fuck em. It's jealousy. It's fear. It's demonstrative of a lack of intelligence.
Fact.

Bony will be a good signing imo, worth 15-20 goals per season with a good run of games.... it will be interesting to see how he copes being arguably the 'big fish' at Swansea to maybe more an 'average-sized' one at City...

On another note, I am only a tad concerned that many of our key players are now pushing towards the magic 30-years of age, indeed some are already over it. While accepting that this is not the sign of imminent decline it might have been 20-years ago, it does strike me that we could probably so with a bit of a re-build over the next 2 or 3 windows along with hopefully one or two coming from through the EDS...?
You are correct this is a concern, but I trust the board that they have this under control and already planned for it.

I think the squad will be slightly reshaped over the next 3 windows and if I'm honest I only have concerns with the venter back position;
Hart, caballero, haug
Zabbaleta, Clyne, maffeo
Kompany, denayer
Mangala, ??
Cliche, kerzawa, Angeleno
Yaya, pogba( we have a few good eds prospects)
Dinho, Koke, bryan
Silva, lopes, Garcia
Navas, sterling
Nasri, de Byrne, barker
Aguero, Lacazetta, ambrose
Bony, ihanacho

Don't have any concerns with us paying what is being quoted.

Bony fits what we need, if you need new tyres for a car you buy new ones or part worn with Bony we are buying new which will serve us well for years to come unlike Falcao who is not fit for purpose at the dark side.

You are correct this is a concern, but I trust the board that they have this under control and already planned for it.

Gunn > Wright (19 years younger)
Denayer > Boyata (5 years)
Rekik > Demichelis (14 years)
Kurzawa > Kolarov (7 years)
Koke > Yaya (8 years)
Zuculini/Barkley > Lampard (15 years)
Lopes > Navas (10 years)
Sterling > Milner (9 years)
Lacazette > Jovetic (2 years)
Bony > Dzeko (3 years)
Iheanacho > Sinclair (7 years)

Glendon, Pozo, Angelino, Maffeo, Fofana fringe players

I could see an overhaul like this over the next 5/6 windows

I have slightly more ambition for iheanacho than for him to replace Sinclair

Okay then,

Bony > Negredo
Lacazette > Jovetic
Iheanacho > Dzeko
Barker > Sinclair

So will we go back to a 4-4-2 then? Whats everyones first 11 with everyone fit?

We play our best football with two up top. Although we do struggle in some games with two strikers.

I think against lesser opposition we will see 4-4-2, but against the best in the league and Champions League I still expect 4-5-1.

I would like to see us go 4 diamond 2, Silva in behind Aguero and Bony with a midfield three of Fenando, Fernandinho and Yaya.

Most of our width comes from our fullbacks anyway so it would work.

------------------------Hart-------------------------
Zaba------Kompany-------Mangala-----Clichy/Kolarov(depends on the game)
-----------Yaya----------Ferna----------------------
Silva------------------------------------------Nasri
-------------Kun-----------Bony--------------------

Looks pretty lethal.

Obviously in bigger games we'll probably go 451.

It looks lethal yes, but big big concerns with that when playing in europe where neither Silva or Nasri is best played out wide like that. One of the strikers would have to drop back a lot.

I doubt we'd set up like that in Europe.

Maybe something like this?

-------------------Hart-----------------------
Zab-----Kompany-----Mangala-------Clichy
---------- -Yaya----Fernando--------------
Navas/Nasri-----Silva----------------Milner
-----------Aguero/Bony/Dzeko--------------

Or maybe the two Fern's with Yaya pushed up.
