Wolves (A) | Post Match Thread

Good 3 points yesterday and will take that all day when we are not at our best. In the circumstances, I thought Wolves did ok especially as they were down to 10 men so early in the game. Pep was really agitated in the second half and I assume that it was because he could see a lack of effort from some of the players who were cruising through the game. Wolves managed to get a number of chances which they shouldn’t have had being a man short. Think that other teams will struggle to take points off Wolves once they get sorted out and settle down.

17 points from 21, 2 wins out of 2 in CL. Haaland exceeding expectations. Overall, a fantastic start to the season.
I’m a glass half empty man. It’s been a decent start but the highest placed team we’ve faced is Newcastle in 10th. We’ve not had a proper test yet. We’ll know where we’re at after rags home dippers away.

We still need to adapt to Haaland's style of play. Noticed a couple of times in yesterday's match especially that he will drop in short lay off a ball and then turn and sprint. If the ball was then played over the top there isn't a chance in hell that the defender who'd followed him in would catch him.

I thought Jack did fine yesterday but some people saying ”Jack silenced his doubters” are wrong. Yesterdays tap-in doesn’t change my opinion about a transfer that may not have panned out the way the club expected it to. I find it strange that Pep says goals and assists are not Jacks most important contributions. It feels like excuses. Don’t get me wrong I support every player we have, but saying that the clubs record fee signing isn’t measured in goals and assists is just ridiculous. He plays Jack up front but his only job is to stretch defenses? Any cheaper player could do that.

Really? I thought Grealish was man of the match but thought Akanji was a liability again,
Pep Guardiola on Manuel Akanji: "More than exceptional. So aggressive but then had the tempo to control the situation. From day one, we thought ‘we got it’."

I always said I would see how Jack got on in his second season as I like to give new players the benefit of the doubt first season, time to settle in so to speak and I think he is now coming on a lot better.

Something Micah Richards said last night was interesting, about him getting into the box more. Now that Sterling has gone I have a feeling that Jack might improve even more. I really hope so because I think, despite that Brummie accent :-), (apologies Brummies but it just makes me laugh) he seems a good lad and is obviously enjoying Manchester City!!

Come on Jack lad show ‘em all. :-)

By the way Erling is the exception that proves the rule as they say! I don’t need to give him a season to settle!! Plus my goodness how in the world does he leap as high as he does? :-)
