yaya.....

He is probably the best midfielder in the premiership and one of the greatest players ever to wear the sky blue. His strength and control are probably the best I have ever seen and his range of passing is immense. We are very lucky to have players of this stature playing for us.

Agree with this statement 100%

A friend who's an Arsenal fan says he's better than "a prime Viera". That's some compliment that I wouldn't disagree with. Attacking wise he's an unstoppable beast.
I'd disagree only marginally mind but he's definitely more accomplished in front of goal.

He's a better passer. His passing game is the most underrated aspect of his game, particularly by some City fans.

And he's got quicker feet.

Viera obviously beats him for defensive reliability.

Imagine a midfield of those two :0

Good one. Vieira was 47.

The lack of appreciation of Yaya amongst some City supportes is as staggering as it is embarrassing.

Yaya > Paddy but they are different types of midfielder. Both are Premier League greats.

Don't think it's an "embarrassing lack of appreciation", just a general observation (obviously shared by some, not all) that he could occasionally work a bit harder for the team.

He's the most complete player in the league. He averages more passes per game than anyone else and one reason for that is because he consistently works hard for the team.

Ya ya - he rests when he wants.

Let's just enjoy him. The guy is different class on and off the pitch.

Viera ? lol.

Yaya is on a different level. Viera was just a holding midfielder.

In the history of football, there are very few players like Toure.
Surely you can't be serious?

Agreed.

I posted on this topic a while back. Lots of City fans underrate Yaya because the best part of his game is actually very subtle -the simple, yet highly intelligent, choices he makes with the ball and his wonderful touch and passing technique. Yeah, his defensive coverage is weak but his impact on the team's tempo and effectiveness is so huge you just have to live with the weaknesses (as Mancini and Pellegrini both agree, clearly).

Gets in an all time premier league XI for me, and with something to spare-ahead of the likes of Keane, Scholes and Vieira (comfortably so, too, in two of those three cases).

Yaya is world class. No need to discuss further

It was only when I saw MOTD that I appreciated just what a good game he had against Cardiff

What a pass to Dzeko for the 2nd. What an immense goal that no one else but Yaya would have scored, and I think it was Yaya who put in Aguero for his goal.

His pass to Aguero was nearly as good as the one to Ed.

Touré wouldn't get in an all-time Premier League eleven.

He has not been a better midfielder than the likes of Keane, Gerrard, Scholes, Vieira, Lampard, and Fàbregas.
