I think they don't want to bring her back because she's not going to go to court, not going to be convicted of any offence and not going to gaol.
She'll be convicted if she comes back, no doubt about it, but it probably won't be a long enough sentence to satisfy either the Gov't or the public so that's why they're trying to prevent her from coming back.
Yeah I know what your saying but she's sidestepped this country in not wanting to be part of it. Her citizenship being revoked, that's a big punishment in itself and sends a clear message. The trouble is the government have brought back hundreds just like her and thus lies a cink in our armour.I know the reason why they are trying to revoke her citizenship, but it doesn’t make it any less ridiculous (and globally unprecedented ifaik) if she doesn’t have dual nationality. It’s like condemning a corpse to capital punishment. Everyone has to have a nationality and we can’t sidestep that just because she’s a ****.

This is the same thinking as Corbyn complaining about drone strikes on ISIS, saying they haven’t been tried yet.
There’s a debate about the legalities of revoking someone’s citizenship but for me there is no debate about her deserving it.

But because he didn’t go off and join the caliphate, he was a British citizen that committed a crime (allegedly) in this country.
The whole point of the caliphate is that it’s stateless and she, as a supposed dual national, went and joined this organisation.
It’s a very straight forward argument.

I actually don’t think it is a racial thing. It’s the Home Secretaries past and present who have dug their heels in on this case. There are hundreds of people that have come back from Syria having fought for Isis. Begum is no worse or better than the rest that have come back and been tried.

If Begum had committed crimes in the UK and hadn’t left to join the caliphate, she would be in prison now.
I’m fairly sure Harris became a UK citizen.
