The players will revolt once they find out their wages will be limited. The SL is introducing a salary gap which means that more money can go to the shareholders. Player power will be severely limited as the other leagues will be decimated if this is brought in and there will be less money all rouns unless of course you are one of the owners of these clubs.

I live in the states... they are the most boring leagues in all of sport, even baseball is more competitive albeit not my thing. In the Nfl and NBA the top players cry and whine and move every few years to the top bidder. Soon you have juggernauts and ultimately it's the same 4 clubs recycled as champs. Let's not even get started on the playoff system especially in NFL where you literally only need to outcompete 3 other teams in your division to be guaranteed playoff contention so the team who does just enough to qualify then gets hot for a few weeks is declared champion... There is no relegation and very little of the bottom ever beating the top.
this is a horrible take on sports in america

Pep is spot on about why Ajax is not involved.

Why is United that haven't won the league in 7 years part of this?
Why is Leicester City that won it not invited?
And why Arsenal and Spurs?

Obviously we all know the answer, but Pep posed good questions.

Mr PB, if we do roll but, would the timing be right for City to press go on that legal master you’ve been alluding to for about 18 months with Liverpool?
It is City, so this all could just as well be a cock-up as a cunning plan. But I really don't know what's happened with that.

I don't think we'd go down the sweeping it quietly under the carpet route again, given we'd done that once with little impact. If what I heard was even partly true, there would have been potentially criminal offences involved. But you've got to be able to prove those.

Some fans can't leave their bitterness towards other clubs behind when something so monumental that is bigger than rivalries is going on.

Exactly, this needs to be stopped. The only people that benefit from supporters turning on each other and players/managers in some misguided loyalty to their clubs are the SL lot.

Who the fuck does Henderson think he is? Apart from a **** who wants to take credit for everything
How can anyone have an issue with it? At least he’s doing something. People were saying earlier things like “I wonder what the players think? If they aren’t on board, it will collapse” etc. Well Henderson, to his credit, wants to find out. This is way bigger than football tribalism.

The snake Gill re-instated to uefa so he can negotiate a better deal for his club and fcuk us over as per usual!

this is the problem with football all self interest fcukers from top to bottom..

That's always been the case.

I'm City through and through, and City will endure long after Pep has gone, but right now we're Pep Guardiola's Manchester City. Pep has won more in his career than the club has won in its entire history, but while Pep and the players might forever be associated with this golden period, the history of Manchester City belongs to the fans, those that went before us and those to come.

Our present owners are just temporary custodians, Soriano has no childhood memory of having to paddle through the piss at the godawful urinals at Maine Road, he's just a temporary journeyman, they all are.

Me, you, our dads and granddads and the kids to come, they're City, everyone else is just passing through.
Spot on!

I'm worried that they are beginning to side with the Americans view of "why do you guys have 'relegation?'' and how the club must be seen to be successful at all times.
In fairness tho I didn’t enjoy any of our relegations. Awful moments to go through.

A little. We already knew that a few clubs were behind what happened with Der Spiegel, FFP & CAS. There were 6 particularly, I'm told, with the US-owned PL clubs prominent.

We've paid very careful attention to what's gone on between those clubs and UEFA and, like Michael Corleone in The Godfather, we seem to have been waiting for our chance to strike.

That doesn't mean that I'm saying that I'm quietly confident that we've pulled a masterstroke here. It could just as easily have been a genuine and monumental error of judgement. So it'll be interesting to see how it develops
Posters were adamant on here yesterday that Guardiola has been kept in the loop , obviously he wasn’t.
Don’t believe we’ve hopped into the freak show at the last minute. Expecting the manager to do things like sell the future vision to KGB to gain his commitment to a new contract etc
without awareness of the big picture is just selling out and compromising the manager. How can shit get shittier. Need a better descriptor.

At least he's looking to do something. The silence from our players is deafening.

And so it should be. They are employees of the club.

As sure as eggs are eggs, if St Marcus and Henderson were called into the office today and offered a shiny new contract to mirror the "new" situation, with an extra 50% and an additional year, they'd sign quicker than deaf man on crack.

Fucking hypocritical anecdotes and statements coming left, right & centre at the minute.

All pigs at the trough.
