I think he deserves a bit more credit for today's performance than he seems to be getting. His run and pass for the goal was excellent and he created a few more chances.
I'm not sure what the best option would be for him next year. He definitely needs more minutes than he received this season but not sure that will happen if McAtee joins the squad.
I'm sure that it would be easy to get him a loan to a top end Championship team where he could play the majority of games. That would be great for his development imo.

I thought he gave their right back a torrid time. Was direct and put in a mature performance not seen from him before.
Their right back is 13 years older and there was one time that he dribbles past him and gains a good 7 yards distance from him but somehow he catch's up to him then he tries the ronaldo trick and slips

He's got everything you need except perhaps that speed of thought at the vital moments. Seems to dwell on it that millisecond too long. That could all be part of lack of game time and ring rust, though.

Whatever happens he will end up having a very good career as a footballer.

Just needs refinement in the final third which I think will only occur if he goes on loan and plays regularly. Also playing for a team that you can make the odd risk and reward move and mistake.

I do wonder if Vinny has his eye on him for a loan at Burnley.

Had a very good game the lad today. Hope he plays the next 2 league games
I agree. I thought he had a very good game, taking into account the inevitability of a degree of rustiness. In fact I thought he looked a lot better than Mahrez.

If he’s not hanging around next season, then I don’t want us to lose him. He needs game time to allow his game to mature, so I hope we loan him out to a prem team.

I doubt Vinny will want Palmer as Benson is a much better player.

I'm not sure Palmer is good enough to be retained another season, loaned or sold. He has bags of skill but he needs hunger desire and focus to succeed at City and i don't know if he has enough right now. He played really well for half an hour so he'll probably start again or get minutes. But his minutes on the pitch are limited and several games earlier in the season he hardly made any impression and that's why he's not played much. Cole needs to really bust a gut and make a difference when given the chance because his days could be numbered here.

I reckon Vinnie might do well to not just rely on individual players next season. He needs a strong squad.

Several players they had this year were on loan and will need replacing.
I agree but Benson isn't a loan player. He's been excellent this season and will play most games next season, so I don't think Palmer will benefit being on loan there.

Interesting that Ally McCoist on TalkSPORT brekkie, is very impressed with him and that Cole reminds him of a young Chris Waddle with his running style …. some accolade that.
