Cashless society

People don't want that though, they want a choice. Looks like the plastic wavers want to amble into the matrix and drag everyone along with them ;)
But if going cashless is such a problem to some people, surely they’d want their wages paid in cash as well because they’re so paranoid about the banks/govt they must have trouble trusting them with their money full stop?

It's not paranoia, most people like ordering things online paying electronically for most purchases, but a bit of cash to pay in the chippy or at a food stall etc is getting the plastic shaggers tails up :)

Taxi driver only accepted cash last night. Wasn’t happy. Tax dodging bastard
I love this place. You rail against the Tories and all they stand for and yet when 'the little man' does something to keep his head above water he's a tax dodging bastard.
You all comply with a political system you seemingly hate. You're sheep.

I’m happy getting cash out whenever I need to. It’s just having it burning a hole in my pocket after because I put my rail fare, Asda and everything else on my debit card.

I went racing the other day and got a reminder of why I prefer not using cash.

I think all rails bookies take cards these days but I wanted the traditional experience so took a wedge of notes.

By the end of the day I was limping with all the shrapnel I had weighing me down.

I bunged it all the taxi driver home anyway, who looked surprisingly pissed off about it, even though it was probably double the fare.

Why not just ask to split the bill over cash and card or use a self-service till that takes both and put your notes in first?

I've always been a fan of cash and always carry it around. I loved the days of getting a couple of quid pocket money or spending money down the shop. My nan slipping me 50p for a couple of bags of crisps. My lad mows lawns and puts bins out and they give him notes and he's happier than a pig in shit. I always spend cash down the pub too. My bro has Atm machines which need to be filled with moolah too.

I know it's ten times easier to swipe or tap a card. I see it down the pub all the time.

Fruit machines, pool tables would need to be revamped, I see the juke boxes are all tap these days so it's coming.

I'm sure with BTC and ETH people could still launder money if they needed too so there is always loopholes for tracking where money goes

I'm just very old school. My misses will use debit and never has free cash, it's almost become the norm with everyone

Cash man for years but i have moved to the dark side of tap and go. No waiting for cash in change. Just makes life easy. Used to carry 50 quid with me in the phone but it never came out. Covid changed me from cash to card and with the 100 limit coming in it sounded the death nail for cash. Not sure how drug dealers will cope!!

Only a small handful of tills in my local Asda now take cash and the queue for them is horrendous.

People are so stuck in their ways. There’s now calls amongst Swansea fans for a boycott because they can’t pay for their half time crap pint with cash. I wish I was joking.

It is the banks and government departments that force an individual into using a passport or DL to obtain services. The birth certificate, marriage certificate should be proof of identity it’s not anymore I’m told
The rules surrounding everything now are horrendous from how much you can give your children to the amount you pay into or withdraw from a bank twenty questions ie. What’s it for ? Where did you get it ? The banks and government dept. policing the country now.

It’s a bit too convenient sometimes paying for something on a credit card.
If I had to hand over cash for larger purchases I would certainly question myself, do I really need this.

When they wrongly took £800 pound off me in 1998 they made an enemy.
When no one would help, employer or union I decided I had to get it back myself.
In 2006 I became self employed. I'm now ahead.
The only reason I'm ahead though, is just in case it happens again :-)

As well as never using cash, I also can’t remember the last time I used a debit/credit card. My debit card is in the bottom of a drawer next to me bed, not had it out for ages.

I pay for everything on my phone. It’s safer as well since Apple Pay encrypts our bank details.

You can even withdraw cash without a debit card these days. No need for them, just another unneeded piece of plastic the world doesn’t need, as well as being no need for cash.

There is still a need for cash. Just because your world says there isn’t doesn’t make it so.
