Middle East Conflict

I see Hamas has ordered its population to stay in their homes.
(The subrext being that they have to be human shields for Hamas ffghters).

I'm sure you're right.

Also, the other subtext is that Israel's warning to leave is clearly impossible to implement, so not made in good faith.

I fear death and suffering of terrifying magnitude will follow; perhaps not as appallingly gruesome and individually cruel as that inflicted by Hamas, but far worse in scale.

The volume of bombs dropped so far in this conflict compared to the civilian casualty proves my point.
Somehow, this does not matter to you because Israel is evil regardless of what they do.
I even read today that they are dropping leaflets urging civilians to move out of a specific location.
But I feel that some people are desperate to see Palestinian civilians killed so they could use that as a stick to beat the Jews.

Here’s one understanding I have, that is based on the understanding you have.

I am not as immersed in your knowledge as how an expert you are.

I have friends from Palestine, and have them for years. I know firsthand that for them to be allowed to cross the border and travel, that’s often around 2-3 weeks approval from Israel, but even prior to that, depends on the capacity to request in the first place including on the spot. Most are denied, then Hamoked (an Israel human rights NGO) will appeal for helping Palestinians. A friend of mine, who travels, some days denied after weeks of request, some days allowed. It depends.

Currently, as how you have mentioned of a 24-hour directive to leave Gaza, will it be not contradictory that the Rafah border, the same border to leave Gaza, has been bombed at least 3 times in a day, during when Palestinians are wanting to leave?

If you have solutions to the 1+ million to cross the border, pray tell. As I have been struggling to know, given my lack of understanding, how to conduct. So in turn I can share my friends in Palestine of alternative solutions.

This sums it up for me , the israel state can fuck off but i feel for the people themselves , terrible horror inflicted on their people , equally hamas can fuck off but those poor people being killed now by israel

Every army has nutters that will commit terrible crimes , the israel soldiers will have those as well when they go in to gaza, see russia, they have been raping and torturing and murdering ukrains . War is brutal, i think we have an armed forces that do very few war crimes thankfully

A laudable idea,
But of course, Isreal wouldn't let them in unless they stopped nutters targetting Isreal.
And thus, what government in their right mind would allow their soldiers (people) to be targets for Hamas nutters who would claim arwb soildiers are proxies for Isreal and thus become targets for said nutters.
I suppose it depends on how much of Hamas Israel take out. If Israel virtually destroy/ significantly weaken Hamas, then I think a peacekeeping force could work while a solution is found for a better future for Palestine. Of course if Hamas is still strong then it's probably a non-starter.

What's your solution then?

You do realise that visiting violence on Gaza has only in your words created more nutters, and all this is doing is radicalising more and more

As for your other statements about them giving over a million people the chance to run within 24 hours in a war torn area

This whole situation is horrendous, obviously.
To put it into context Saturday was the equivalent of 6000 or so UK citizens (of any age etc) being executed. Imagine if that happened, wouldn't most of us want our Government to retaliate in the harshest way possible?
However, as someone posted earlier Israel, like the UK, is a modern civilized democratic country and any response needs to reflect that.
More volence and the killing of even more innocents will only lead to more hell.

Do I have an answer though? No, of course not.I don't think anyone does at the moment. Everything is far too complex and entrenched.

And there you have it. Straight from the dog’s mouth. Israeli President holds all of Gazan Palestinians responsible. At least some of you can stop pretending that they don’t!

His twitter says everything about the man and his own views and politics.

I don’t see his tweet condemning the Hamas spokesmen who claimed every single Jew killed on Saturday was a soldier and not civilians?

The population of Gaza has increased fourfold within the past three to four decades. So where is the proof of ethnic cleansing?
Egypt is a sovereign state. What is their reason for refusing the Palestinians the right to return home?
Seriously? You think Palestinians going into Egypt as refugees is what's meant by the right of return?

People hold the Israeli government to a higher standard than Hamas, the terrorist organisation. That isn't much of a surprise.

The quote is from an article in the FT. I'm not sure it matters who retweets it.

That's the tragedy of it all there is no solution in more violence it's just a never ending cycle, the problems are there because the world took their eye off the ball, and allowed things to fester

LMAO, I post a direct quote from the Israeli president stating clearly his disregard for innocent civilians and you’re trying to deflect about the person that tweeted it. Wow, you’re something else!

Sadly, there isn't one.
Unless of course Palastinians stop killing Jews.
Or of course Hitlers mission statement is completed.
Can't see either happening, and if the later occurs their won't be a world left to inherit.
