Watch the build up to the Ortega save.
It just looks like bad defending to me. We had the numbers back. There are three players on Diaby, and a simple pass across the top of the box still splits all of them, leading to the shot. Foden was pretty lazing tracking back, too.

Bloody hell, winger loses the ball in the oppositions box. Glad we never signed Messi as he lost the ball a few times up there too. Ban De Bruyne from pinging passes about because he also loses the ball a lot.

You clearly have a real dislike for the lad as a player but credit where it’s due he had a very decent game and showed glimpses of why if given time he could become a very good player for us. He’s 21 in a new league. Got loads to learn but also has tons of natural talent.

Wasn't the losing the ball as much as the stopping dead after 3 yards. Who knows what 3rd or 4th balls may needed to have been won. As for this very decent game - better. But he'll always have them. He wouldn't be here if he wasn't talented. That's not my point.

He is 21, in his first season with us. In the equivalent of 13 league games he’s got 2 goals and 5 assists, not that shabby
He is still 21, that’s 14 league games and 8 goal involvements. What a lot of people don’t give credit for is how difficult it is for a new player to adapt to playing for Pep - you play for a know nowt like ten bob and you just have to go and play, you go out and play for Pep and you have to do very specific things in a detailed and specific way; I would imagine that takes a lot of adaptation and getting used to. I think he’s doing really well

On offense, he definitely does. On defense, he doesnt put the extra effort. I think its also because hes a bit sulky from not being able to score. He had a lot of shots lately, jst nothing seems to go in. Must be frustrating for the lad. He isn't that bad of a shooter as statistics seem to say.

Headless chicken more often than not. Has great feet and pace but little to no football intelligence, and that isn't really something you can teach. Needs to improve big time once this first season is out of the way, as decent as he was against an injury stricken Villa.

I suppose now with Mahrez gone there is a new punching bag for some people here, when will you call him ffs ?

Would it make you feel better if I lied and said that every aspect of his game was brilliant?

He's got talent but he's also got no football brain. He reminds me of a young Raheem Sterling right now, only with much better dribbling ability.

Calling him a headless chicken and saying he has no football brain after a good performance, no you don't have to call him brilliant and he's got a lot of work to do but you don't have to grossly exaggerate either.

Headless chicken was probably harsh, sure. But he literally doesn't have a football brain and that's pretty clear to see.

Yes, someone that has managed to work there way up to playing for one of (if not the) best football clubs in the world, and is regularly selected for his national side, has no “football brain”.

Pep has started Doku in multiple big games. And Pep isn't one who selects daft players.

That should be enough for your football brain to see that something with your assessment of Doku's football brain might be somewhat wrong...

Get him a go against Madrid. If he‘s shit Get him off to HT. I Think its this kind of game where he really can impress the World. That could change his overall performance the next games.

I think what he is currently showing is a lack of composure and decision-making after beating his man /men and getting himself into good positions.

It is those aspects of his game which detract from his performances currently.

I can never conclude whether, before players actually make a decision, they think about and activate a few brain cells, or do they just instantly react to a situation. I was never any good really 'cos I was always thinking about what to do instead of doing it. Once Jezzer got round the back of the Villa defence the ball right into Rodri's path is surely down to natural instinct, no thinking of the science behind rocket propulsion would be required.

We tend to agree up in our gathering in 323 that his end product needs working on, but I think we said the same about Sterling. And his assist for Rodri is clear evidence that the work is coming along nicely.

Stevie Wonder can see you've got issues with one another. Therefore, I'm advising you now; either knock the argument on the head, put each other on ignore or take your spat to pms. Or any combination of the three. If it continues on the forum, you're at risk of taking a break from here. And don't bother pming me with any "he started it" stuff, as I won't respond. I don't particularly care who started it. We've had reports in about both of you from other posters. You've been advised; it's up to you now. And if you have an issue with this, take it up with the admin.
